And I say that as a Jacksonville resident predating the Jags and therefore a Jags fan. Screw it though. I’m a MUCH bigger fan of LSU.

I hope Meyer realizes right away that he absolutely despises the NFL and wants to ditch it quickly and head back to the college game. I hope that Woodward is already watching Meyer closely. The man is a proven winner at the college level and I couldn’t give a shite about any baggage he carries. Granted there is no way he would hang around LSU for as long as Saban has at Bama but I would damn sure take just five seasons if it brought another title and lifted the program back to elite status for his successor.

He is too wish washy. I don’t want a guy they may flake out and retire in 2-3 yrs

Better than having a guy we have to give a massive buyout to

Arnsbarger did wonders for the program in his 3 years
Saban was only at LSU for 5.

I would look at it as a bridge. Hopefully get the same number of years Ohio State got from him. While he lifts us back up Woodward keeps his list of replacements refreshed. Meyer would be nearly a slam dunk as far as getting us back to elite status. What other candidate can that be said about?

Yeah he’ll come up with some fake disease to force retirement after 3-4 yrs, but in that time span he’ll probably win a title and play for another and also hire his successor that will keep the program humming well into the future, jus like Ohio State

Exactly what I’m saying.

The timing won’t work out.

No way urban only does one year in the NFL. Maybe two and then back to college but not just one.

So that means he’d be available December 2022 at the soonest.

If Ed has the season we’re probably looking at, he may not be around by December 2021.

He will get a call. Even if it’s just to hear him say no thanks. Woodward will absolutely make LSU the first temptation for Urban to come back into the college game.

Arnsbarger is a terrible comparison…he didn’t like recruiting. Urban would be great recruiter but I still don’t think he would be an option here

frick. No. Urban is a first class douche bag. He’ll hang until he accidentally eats spicy jambalaya then get a tummy ache and have to retire for the 6th time.

There is a reason why Meyer has had to leave 2 jobs that he had lifetime guarantees at.

An NFL gig is a lot less stressful.

He took a shitshow of a program and got it on the right track.

The differences in style and strengths have nothing to do with whether a guy being here 2-3 years can make a difference.

Urban Meyer is done after his stint with Jacksonville comes to an unproductive end.

No one wants to coach here. Keep dreaming.
