It's clear that these national championship teams are not 55-0 dominators in big games . . . in fact that's supremely rare.

I think our negativity springs from, not a desire to have Saban back, but a secret Tiger desire to be like USC 2003 . . . to have the appearance of dominating. To win every game by a margin of 30 at least and to score nearly 50. The tiger fans that want to run Les Miles out are those that deep down believe (though they would never admit it, and it is so deep that all judgment of success is based on that team) USC deserved the 2003 title . . . if not that then they are those that believe only in the appearance of domination (which is unreal when it comes down to it.)

OR it could be that they want to beat teams 55-0 because that has happened to us (I don't remember this happening to us, but maybe it feels like it sometimes). Either way it's an unreal expectation of any football team in a good conference.

Maybe the negatiger (I hate the title, but is a real entity nonetheless) is actually a closet USC fan itching for a reason to leave. Searching for and compiling any and all problems so that they have a sufficient reason to defect.

People want the domination of the 2003 LSU team back. Defense and a strong running game. That's what dominates in the SEC, and when you are dominant in the SEC, you are dominant in all of college football. I'll take beating people 20-7 all day long.

No what these teams have, Saban's team have and our team doesnt have anymore is..

Disclipine

An attacking defense

Tough on the line of scrimmage. They dont get pushed around much.

We are lacking in all of these and I personally dont think you can win a NC without them.

Hopefully Less will add these things back to the LSU Football Program soon.

surely you will Bubba, but that's not the majority voice on the rant.

The majority voice on the rant says: act like you're USC (2003) or else we'll wish Saban was back. What a f-ed up ultimatum.

Don't get me wrong, it's fine and healthy to point out what we need to improve on . . . the real psychological f-ups are those that demand Les Miles leave because he put together a winning season.

is there any other explanation for unrealistic expectations?

I'm trying to say that the reason the "negatigers" persist is not that they want Saban back at all . . . but that they felt defeated even back then.
There is a psychological wound that can't be healed . . . they have become the critics of the 2003 NC Tigers . . . they have become what they once despised.

I don't know about USC envy, but having a HC that is the butt of sports media jokes is not much fun.
Miles is living off good recruiting. The jokes aren't going to help. Then what?

It wil eventually come down to the point that there will be several coaches each year in the SEC that will own Miles, which one of them will be Saban, then Meyers, and eventually the Ark coach, and then there is the Ole Miss coach, that is having his way with Miles. Sooner than later Miles program wil consistenly be a winner each year at 8 and 4. Winning record so be content withe mediocracy.

I'm not content with mediocrity, especially the mediocrity of your post. No one has "owned" Miles yet. Sure the running game frustrates the fans, but we're in the game until the end . . . you may think he's predictable but the other SEC teams do not.

A+

you deserve an A+. i enjoy the objective view of the psychologist. the nega-tigers, boo-gers and ranturds are a study in low self-esteem.
i regard most of their antics as a continuance of their parents nurturing of sarcasm and abuse.

an example is after two weeks of beating miles down for ol miss clock management, it comes out that for the third loss of the season we were beaten by the sec officials.
without the sec officials' bad calls we would probably be 13-0 (seccg thrown to al b/c bad calls.)
but, since their life is a failure (b/c their dad called them such) they call a man w/ miles' winning record, a LOOSER.???!!!! WHAT KRAP.

Good post. But I'm afraid what we see is what we get. 5-3 and 6-2 conference records.

Whatever, our record can be improved . . . everyone everywhere at everytime needs improvement.

This is not what's going on here . . . what's going on here is that we're trying to discover what the actual standard is for negatigers. Some say its Saban, I disagree with that.

I think negatigers are people who heard the reasons for the split title in 2003 and couldn't resolve the issue in their psyches. Because they never resolved it, they soon assumed the same mode of criticism . . . which they manifest at the sight of any deviation from perfection. It's a sickness. Negatigers are actually PosiTrojans.

Can't be . . . the negatiger is a more recent phenomenon. I'm trying to trace the origin of the negatiger.

Anyone else got an idea what spawned the negatiger?

Here's mine: The negatiger was born in 2003, unconvinced of our dominance and championship. Because of this every year has to either prove that we deserve that championship or we have to become like USC.

i like your derivation so far, but do you think it may even go deeper? Do you think Louisianians have a deep seated inferiority complex on the whole?

The Negatiger occurred long before TD.com was est.
