Was where I stayed last year in Vegas. 10000% agree.

Why do you need a backup? You think Vegas is going to sell out?
Vegas has 150,000 hotel rooms - most in the United States. They will barely know the game is going on.
Orlando is second at 130,000. There’s not a sold out hotel in Orlando for the FSU game. Barely a blip on the radar.

Fitting the flight time you want will be the most important part. Don't forget to reserve your escort as well. Don't want to wait for the ones at the hotel bar after 3am

False. Almost everything in downtown Orlando is sold out. Had to book 10 miles out.

If you stay at Mandalay Bay they close down the Hacienda bridge over the 15 to cars and you can walk to the game. Something to consider.
Walking is by far easiest option for Allegiant.

Go to Disneyworld or Universal Studios, and you will see the parks overrun by fans.
Just curious what is the draw of downtown Orlando? Maybe I am sheltered but the only reason to go there is for Disney or Universal, and maybe Seaworld. Its like taking a vacation in New Orleans but never touring the French Quarter.

I did a search yesterday and all the fancy hotels like the Bellagio are not available. I am hoping that bookings don't open up until within a year of the check-in date. Could that be the reason?

Any recommendations on where to stay for a group of 8-10?
We'll have a group of 6-8. We're renting a house through Venmo. There are some pretty nice options available within a reasonable distance from the strip.

I just checked the Marriott Bonvoy app and there's not a single sold out hotel in the greater Orlando area for that weekend, including downtown.
Also checked Travelocity for other brands that I don't normally use and there were 20-plus hotels available in downtown Orlando for that weekend.
There are even rooms available at the team hotel, which I believe is the Renaissance Sea World.
