I've been on this message board for a while and I've taken my share of retribution and jubilation. Seen all the subject lines and comments about Steven Craig Ensminger over the years. Some warrantied and some just b.s. I'ms pushing 60 years of "happy" birthdays so here is my take:
Ensminger gets 1 year to prove his worth. LSU finishes middle of the road he can get another year or two and ride off into the sunset with a $1MMM BONUS or whatever for retirement. Good for him and his family. Good for both Sides. "Loyalty" is good. Win-win as they say in negotiations. He bailed LSU out when needed in the past and here he is doing it again. WTF?
This guy is a warrior. Give him his props. He has been thru the shite-hole of LSU politics and SURVIVED. I really don't know how he did it. I imagine he did what great people do: he shut the frick up and let everyone else do the talking for him.
Moving on to success in 2018 I hope our offensive coordinator throws "caution to the wind" and treats THIS year as a championship season. Coach your heart out! Look at Philadelphia's win and use it to your advantage. In other words don't kick a FG when you are on the 1 yard line - even if it is 4th down. Do something creative and innovative. Tell Coach "O" to TRUST you!
You Sir have the biggest DICK on campus! Use it to your advantage. You are going to help make LSU football great again. That is my hope in 2018. Orgeron needs to STFU!
GEAUX TIGERS!

Downvote? WTF? Can you elaborate. I think I threw everything out there. Downvote seems a bit overly pessimistic. Can you bring any real "smack" to the table or are you just a 1st grader pressing a fricking button?
a-hole!

Woooohooo frick winning, let’s just setup all of our BBQ buddies on staff so they can ride off into the sunset for their loyalty

I remember going to an Ethyl Management Club meeting in the late 70's and the coach said the Steve Ensminger was the next Bert Jones. Well, he wasn't but I hope he can at least remember that the pro set is what will win us some games.
Good Luck and Geaux Tigers!!!

He’s probably a solid 8”. Above-average, yes, but not the biggest.

Back in the mid-70's he certainly had the attention of a lot of college football teams and he chose his home town LSU. He did well under Coach Mac and when he got back to his alma mater he has also done very well. Now that he is the "official" LSU offensive coordinator I think our offensive "philosophy" will change dramatically. Our identity will probably stay the same but a sleeping GIANT will awaken. Let it happen...... It has begun!

Like Orgeron, Ensminger wasn’t qualified to be our OC at a major institution trying to compete Bama. The incompetence and delusion trickled down from the AD to the HC.

I was pretty much with you until you suggested that we pay him $1,000,000 to be mediocre and get fired. frick that. Orgeron and Ensminger either need to produce in a big way, or they both need to be canned.
No one forced Ensminger to take the OC job. He very well could’ve kept himself out of it and kept his cushy TE position, but he chose to throw himself into the fire and be the one forced to deliver on O’s promise of “we gone hire the best offensive coordinator out dere, baw”. Handouts and freebies are no longer a thing when you’re “the guy” and you’re getting paid 40 men’s salaries to be that guy. Produce or get the frick off the staff as far as I’m concerned. He chose this and he can live with the results on his legacy and his life if he doesn’t put out.

Bull frickn shite. Middle of the road? Neither Ensminger nor Orgeron gets another YEAR OR TWO if LSU finishes “middle of the road” in 2018.
You act like these two coaches have a history of winning national championships. They don’t get any leeway like championship coaches get.

Based upon your post, you prove that age does not equate to maturity and experience does not equal wisdom. Go to bed.

If we aren't running a wide open spread offense with a lot of RPOs, we won't even sniff mediocre offense.
Defense will keep us in most games, but just like Bama and Clemson who yearly have top defenses, there are some teams you just have to get in a scoring race with.
Ensminger can't run that shite he did when he played interim OC (and yes I know he was using "Cam's playbook"). We don't have the RB talent where two different guys can run for 250+ yards, averaging 7-17 yards a carry, on multiple opponents. Florida, Bama, UGA, and Auburn will still have strong defenses, and Miami has a veteran secondary unit. I also don't see Miss St's defense falling off a cliff either.
I know people want to be positive about the offense, but I just can't see it anywhere. All you can do is hope. Hope Ensminger isn't lying about the type of offense he wants to run (high octane, RPOs, running from the QB position, etc), hope Ed doesn't stick his fingers in the offense, hope Brennan and/or Narcisse or whoever can give us good QB play, hope we have multiple pass catchers that can actually catch, hope the OL doesn't take long to jell, hope the RBs are productive enough, hope, hope, hope.
It's wishful thinking at best.

If he doesnt produce a top 40 offense he needs to be fired along with Orgeron.
You dont fire an OC you hired because you didnt get along and pay him close to 2 million dollars to leave then have no OC search because you beleive you have the best one in the country coaching your TEs.

Why would you kick a field goal on the 1 yard line on anything but 4th down?

This is the exact reason why people are completely fed up with LSU Football / Administration.
Middle of the road is not good enough, and our fans deserve better.

No one wants to hear about Coaches E or O having success. Get a life, man.
