Giving up 10 runs to Oral Roberts before recording an out will affect your draft stock.

Over rated... compared to the pitchers you saw at Omaha this year.

Hope the kid has a bright future, but we need better here

Dude is an insane talent, just never got to develop properly because of the injury bug.

MLB teams often draft on potential and their ability to develop a talent. However, they seldom go that route in the first round. At this point, Hill is more potential than proven. He'll go early enough and will not return.

Hill and Hoglund will likely go supplemental or 2nd at latest similar to what ginn from msu went last year with same injury and rehab with teams that draft them

You could end up being correct on Hoglund; but just about every projection and mock draft has him going around 17-22; so I doubt he gets out of the first.

However, I don’t know why some of these people are shocked on Hill. He has primarily been projected as a supplemental to early 2nd round pick for a few weeks now.

And yes he will go. It does him no good to even return to LSU or college as he won’t be able to pitch next season.

He won’t be pitching next season anyway.

Hill lacks command. His fastball usually catches way too much plate, and scouts have taken notice.

Why would Hill be a first round pick? He’s a project.

Much of the draft is about potential, but injuries and the fact that he’s not 17-18 anymore mean teams will not be using a first round pick on a player like that

I mean, the dude had Tommy John. He also hasn’t pitched a full season in college. He’s a high risk high reward prospect at this point. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him slip into the 5-8 round range.

What’ll be interesting to see is if he thinks he could improve his draft stock by coming back for another year, especially with Jason Kelly. Coming back to school is sometimes used as leverage by these players. Given Hill still as 2 years of eligibility thanks to COVID (possibly 3 if he were to seek a medical red shirt), he could conceivably pitch another year at LSU and still maintain that leverage.

That would actually be the biggest shock of the entire draft.
