Les Miles lets the Miles worshipers down and also does better than the Miles haters think he will. Everything on this board seems to be in extremes: either fans are drinking the Les Miles cool aid or predicting a Miles Meltdown. Did anybody ever think maybe we could finish somewhere in the middle of these 2 extremes? I predict slightly better than last year, but another 2nd place finish to Saban. Les keeps his job and is safe. After next year Les leaves enough ammunition for both sides. He underperforms but it is far from a meltdown. You gotta love Lester. He has a way of walking the fence and not falling into greatness or mediocrity.

I see us going 8-4 and Les getting the boot or a horrible Michigan season and they come calling for him. Gary Patterson hauls in the monster 2011 class.

Go jack off to our great 4th and goal stop against that perennial powerhouse in Mississippi State. Or how about our great 8 point victory against the mighty Louisiana Tech Bulldogs! Take off the freaking purple and gold sunglasses and get in touch with reality you whack job.

LSU goes 8-4, Miles isn't getting fired

We go 12-0 and then 2-0 after that.

It depends on the circumstances of the losses, but it is conceivable that 8-4 would get him fired.

He would need some pretty bad mistakes to not get fired or some type of scandal.

Possible - yes : probable - no

Folks keep forgetting that we have not had losing seasons after the NC. No matter how frustrating the games were - we still had winning seasons that improved from 2008 to 2009. We went to a good bowl game.

LSU has not in the past, fired a coach with this wins/losses/bowls record and I don't think they will start now.

Miles is here for at least the next two seasons , even if the team play/record is mediocre (by our standards and desires)unless if he chooses to leave by his own accord.

LSU and its fans know what the top looks like. 8-4, year in and year out, simply isn't good enough. Ask Frank Solich or Larry Coker or Ron Zook.

I think he stays through 2011 just because of money involved. Even if LSU were to say go 7-6

They'd have to sacrifice crowton for sure. Les and Alleva would definitely be on the hot seat if this happened.

Oh I agree on that Crowton would go or other coaches would and Les would have to win in 11.

...but if he goes 7-6 next year then he doesn't survive. IMO.
