Before the season started, I was pretty bullish on the Tigers to go undefeated. After today (and the past few weeks) I am not so sure. I'll take a 10-2 season with a BCS bowl win.

Next is will be our NC year. Mett will be a senior (hopefully sans moustache) and Bama will have a freshman QB. Nobody to stop us.

I dig how we're 5-0 this year... you're trying to turn the page, and hope for next year.

The only team who may realistically beat us is Bama, who isn't exactly god's gift to football like all of you "fans" in need of a reality check, Xanax, or both like to make them out to be. Bama beat a dead carcass that is Arkansas, two mediocre Sun Belt teams, and an overrated Michigan who almost lost to Air Force. The Michigan win isn't even decent because defenses like LSU and Bama's are so deep and stacked that they can throw a ton of skill, speed, and bodies at teams who rely on speed like Michigan and Oregon. That's become evident.

Yeah, LSU hasn't crushed teams up to your expectations. Considering, most of you are on suicide watch if we let a team get a field goal, I'd say that that your expectations not being met is pretty likely every game that LSU plays. Let's take a look at last season. Bama beats Georgia Southern, an FCS team similar to Towson, 45-21, and yet, they gave us our toughest match in November and was the only team to beat us in the entire 2011 campaign. Not only that, but Georgia Southern scored their points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, not 13 out of 22 points with 9 minutes left in the game. shite, they were within 10 points of Bama until halfway through the third. Yet, at the end of the season, Bama still was the National Champion and the only game they lost was to an equally dominant LSU by a field goal in a crazy intense match up.

Even the best teams have bad stretches. One or two games doesn't make the team. They're young, but that's expected. Hopefully, Mett keeps his mustache (because it's stupid that anyone is even bringing this up and shows how pathetic you people are) and wins a National Championship, and because I'm both a rational person and a fan with any logic whatsoever, I don't think that's ridiculous goal. Regardless of what you WANT to see. Fumbles are the issue. Last week, they overshadowed a dominant LSU defensive game that really wasn't as close as it looked by giving Auburn a gimme from 26 yards out. This week, 3 lost fumbles, 5 overall, and a very sluggish team that seemed to have no intensity or interest gives Towson the ball and more confidence than they should. It also stopped LSU drives, including a fumble 13 yards from the endzone. Take away the turnovers, and this game is the blowout is should have been.

Lastly, let's not forget... TOWSON SCORED 13 OUT OF THEIR 22 POINTS WITH 9 MINUTES LEFT IN THE GAME. That means until 9 minutes left in the game they only had 9 points to LSU's 31, which is called clean up time in any stadium in the nation. 31 to 9 with nine minutes left in the 4th is a finished game. If this were Oregon, we'd be saying "Yeah, but over half of their points came with 9 minutes left when the game was over." Have some sense, people. It's embarrassing.

LSU is a 3 loss team. There is more going on with this team than just bad football. I hope to God that I am wrong, but it just seems that our problems are deeper than just overlooking opponents.

Bama can't get here fast enough.

Anyone who wants to perma ban bet with me I am down.

Where are these 3 or 4 losses exactly coming from? A&m's little boy qb is going to get raped. South Carolina is not going to beat LSU at LSU.. did anyone even watch them last night? Arkansas is absolutely atrocious. Mississippi St is our bitch always and another home win.

It's one thing to critique and criticize your own team, but look around the league and take note..

LSU has yet to play in a big time game.. You get to see just how good they are next weekend. I cannot wait.. even tho this is the 1 team I was concerned about on the schedule going into the season..

I am usually as upbeat about LSU football as any... but if anyone does not have concerns about this team...then they simply don't understand football.

The number of penalties and turnovers are a concern....as is the dismal pass protection.

I don't think Mett has been as bad as some have said...(not excusing the t.o.).

Our defense seems a little confused at times...but I have faith in the chief to get us ready to play the meat of our schedule.

With those reasonable conerns....I predict a 10-2 season at best. I had preseason picked us to go undefeated but we haven't looked like we can accomplish that yet.

From what I've seen I'd say 2 maybe 3 and I'm ok with that as long as this team shows improvement and heads into next year looking like a well rounded football team, with good qb and o line play

I know this is a tough concept to grasp, but the statistics say you're wrong. Since I enjoy constantly showing the Rant how stupid and how much of a "grass is always greener" crybaby pussy mindset it has, here are some statistics that show that Bama isn't playing MUCH better football. I'll start with Opponent Records to highlight the quality of team that Bama has been playing so well against.

Opponent Records
LSU: 8-14 (without LSU matchups: 8-9)
Bama: 11-13 (without Bama matchups: 11-8)
Difference: Bama opponents had two more wins, one less loss. What a drastic difference!

Offense, Total Yards
LSU: 2164 yards (432.8 yards/game)
Bama: 2005 yards (401 yards/game)
Difference: +159 yards (31.8 yards/game) gained, LSU

Total Yards Given Up on D
LSU: 1089 yards (217 yards/game)
Bama: 958 yards (191.6 yards/game)
Difference: +131 yards given up, LSU

Points Scored
LSU: 195 (39 ppg)
Bama: 201 (40.2 ppg)
Difference: +6 points (1.2 ppg), Bama

Points Scored Against
LSU: 63 (12.6 ppg)
Bama: 35 (7 ppg)
Difference: +28 (5.6 ppg) points given up, LSU

Penalties
LSU: 42 - 305 yards
Bama: 20 - 168 yards
Difference: +22 penalties for +137 yards lost, LSU

Turnovers Gained
LSU: 12
Bama: 15
Difference: +3 turnovers gained, Bama

Turnovers Lost
LSU: 8
Bama: 3
Difference: +5 turnovers lost, LSU

Also noteworthy is the points given up in the 4th quarter once a win was locked. It's a nitpicky stat but coaching style plays a factor in skewed stats:

Points Against in 4th, Win Locked
LSU: 20 (4 ppg)
Bama: 7 (1.4 ppg)
Difference: +13 given up in 4th in clean up, LSU

Points Against Without 4th and clean up time
LSU: 43 (8.6 ppg)
Bama: 28 (5.6 ppg)
Difference: +15 points (3 ppg) given up without 4th counted, LSU

So, outside of penalties and turnovers, tell me in which aspect of the game Bama is dominating in? The only one that is glaring is points allowed, and even the points per game margin is only 5.6 more per game. Stats don't lie. They tell the entire story. All these stats prove is that you guys are all half-assed, moron fans, and you just look for reasons to be miserable, such as mustaches and some made up myth that Alabama's having sex with all of our wives/girlfriends/moms because they're the best team ever. Bama's a great football team and deserve respect, but they're not exactly leagues ahead of us. Their opponents aren't much better than ours, and overall, their stats aren't much better than ours. We played two rough games against shitty opponents who we obviously overlooked. I'm just glad we were humbled before real SEC play. Stop being such punk arse fans and do some research.
