I'll continue to wait until we can actually fill out the roster more. Lots of spots to add still

I think the 5 players with the best hands will play....this team will pass the ball, drive the ball, and shoot the ball....steal the ball, trap the ball and we will have a ball !!

He's a small ball center for the type of offense we will run next year...

Seems it would have to be Watford.

Exactly. I think LSU could go with a small line-up and be competitive, but Watford is 6'9" and is a very good all around player. He is not a wing, even though he has those skills, with his height he will step into the role Naz created. IDK what others think he is going to play, but he won't be playing wing. He may be given the ball on the wing and the offense running through him, like they did with Naz at times, but he is not going to be on the wing predominately. LSU will need his length under the glass to get rebounds and low post scoring.

Watford is similar to Naz or other true bigs

No, he isn't like Naz, he isn't the size or height, but since he will be one of 2 6'9" players on the team, he will need to play that role that Naz created. He has SF skill but he is a big guy, 220 pounds I think, so he can play the post and bang with the big boys. If KBW and Naz were both returning I think Watford plays a SF role. Just don't have any big bodies to put out there except him.

I could see LSU using Days a lot at the SF. Might have to go zone more but imo it would help with defensive rebounding.

Darius Days will be a starter on this team.

I’ll go with a lineup of:

Smart PG
Mays SG
Taylor SF
Days PF
Emmitt C

Only possible change I could see is Taylor becoming 6th man and Watford starting at the 3.

This is a sick lineup either way.

There’s no way you can run out a 6’6” oF and 6’7” center

It’s much more likely that Days is inserted at SF to integrate some size.

Williams at PF.

LSU’s center is not on the team yet

My issue with moving one of our forwards to the 3 is depth. Unless we magically get an eligible SEC caliber big before the season begins I'm not sure how you can play Days/Williams/Watford all together for extended time because we lack depth. Playing those three over 80 minutes (2 positions/40min) is perfect for me, but adding the third position on the floor for forwards doesn't make much sense. I could see sets where we have all three on the court but it wouldn't be often with the current roster.

Yea we are in quite the situation with the 5 position. RN I do expect Cooper to get some of the minutes there but he's probably not ready to play sec level ball down there.

Hopefully we get some grad transfer place holder so He and Courtese can piece the 5 spot together this year.

Taylor is our defensive stopper/energy guy he's not losing his spot. Big mistake by Benford not to start him vs MSU. Hyatt is going to play. I guess because he redshirted last year he is not being mentioned. He can flat out shoot which is something this team is missing. Cooper will also get some run early, to see if he can give you anything, mainly because of our lack of size. With that said:

Smart
Mays
Taylor
Williams/Mays (this IMO will go back forth)
Watford

Mays/Williams (see above)
Manning
Hyatt
Bishop
Cooper ( at least early on)
Graves
