Rece Davis - The dumbest of the whole crew will obviously think that none of these players should be allowed to play and LSU should be punished, if they even let him speak on this.

Desmond Howard - Will probably lean toward the above, but not so bullish like Reese will be.

Pat McAfee - Will likely not provide a definitive answer, but since he's at LSU and loves to play to the crowed, will probably lean toward siding with the 5th year players coming back.

Nick Saban - really curious to see where he stands, since we all know him and Lane are close. I think ultimately, he will just say that Lane is doing what he thinks is best for his team and how can you fault him for that?

Kirk Herbstreit - similar to Saban.

What do you think?

Let’s revisit what the bama boy had to say about Bediako at Bama during basketball season:

quote:

He framed college basketball as professional sports due to player compensation and called for clear, consistent eligibility rules:

“It’s professional sports. We need to accept that, No. 1, because that’s what it is. Because when players are making as much money as they are in college now, it’s professional sports. So, if this is a pro league, what are the parameters for participating in a pro league? Is it you can’t be in another pro league? Is it that you can’t make x-amount of money? Is it a time constraint? What is it?”

Doesn't matter what they say. What matters is what LSU will do after court ruling on Thursday or Friday when they have to name their roster of 105 on Friday. What I don't know is does your named roster of 105 this Friday have to be the same all season or can LSU declare a roster of 105 for this game and wait to see what happens in coming weeks in court system and then as that clarifies itself down the road then add these 5 for 5 players at a later date and continue to practice with them till then? I have no idea. If that is an option, that would be what I would do. I would use them like practice squad players until clarity is provided by courts and then add them to roster at a later date in the season. There are too many unknowns on court appeals, etc. even if Thursday goes way of players to take a risk of placing them on roster until clarity is provided by court system for my liking but again, it doesn't matter what ESPN or I think, only thing that matters is what LSU decision makers decide. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Those statements by Herbstreit ignore the crux of the issue with what's going on today. Nobody would be making an argument against that quoted statement if it weren't for the NCAA's 5 for 5 rule. Hopefully he takes a hint from Saban, a man he respects. We'll see.

Rece and Herbstreit will take the holier than thou approach and talk about how childish it is and how horrible it is for the game.

Desmond…who cares?

Saban will use thia as a time to talk about how the NCAA and SEC needs to get their act together.

McAfee will get the crowd fired up and lead the STTDB.

It doesn't matter because NON will mention any other college football team to sign or attempt to sign NFL players.

Rece just the other day on his show said he didn't agree with it. BUT, he also says when you look in to why he and others feel that way, there is no logical reason since all college players are professional now anyway so he does think it is more nuanced than he originally thought.

The hypocrisy will always be in full display. The fact the national media refuses to acknowledge it is precisely why no one trusts the national media in any avenue.

I watched some of Pat’s show day before yesterday and he had Kirk on and they were completely ignoring and dismissing the fact that these kids got screwed and were only mentioning LSU, so there’s that. I hope they all get booed relentlessly when they start the show. Assholes.

ETA: I see JimTiger72 found the clip…

Saban will absolutely point out examples of this at other programs. He’s always been the most logical figure in college football.
