I know this is primarily a football board and some of you don't care about the other sports, but Sarah Finnegan is one of the best athletes to ever attend LSU. She is the most decorated gymnast ever for LSU. Her younger sister Aleaha will be coming to LSU in 2022.

Today they lost their father. They are a family of great faith so I'm sure that they would appreciate any prayers any of our tiger nation have to offer up

He had been fighting cancer for the past couple years and just relapsed a few months ago.

They are a great family and need our prayers

My dad has pancreatic cancer that was also kind bbn of misdiagnosed as pancreatitis at first, which delayed proper treatment. It's just a terrible cancer because of difficulty diagnosing it early.

Depressing.

I talked with Sarah's aunt after Mass tonight in Sugar Land and it's really been a sad few months for the family. Nice that he was able to travel to Peru to watch her in the Pan American Games.

I’m truly sorry that you feel this way. I’ll be praying for you.

Prayers for the Finnegan family. Their faith will keep them strong during this incredibly difficult time.

But did you play sports for LSU? Sorry for the smart arse answer. I just don’t get why your grief is personal, but if you played sports for LSU it’s worthy of our sympathy.

I don’t know if the prayers of strangers are meaningless to the bereaved family, but they should be.
