As a fifteen year old without much money, I went to the Box for the 1994 regional final vs Southern Cal to try find a ticket. Tickets were extremely tight and none in my budget were to be had. I worked the pregame crowd pretty hard, too. Game was drawing near so I decided to climb the base of the light standard beyond the fence I’m right field. I was on my up there for a few minutes before a Sheriffs deputy made me come down. I was pretty bummed, obviously. A began walking towards what is now Skip Bertman drive to figure out what I was going to do next. There was a moving line of people entering the stadium from the gate in the far right field corner. A lady stops me and says “Son, do you want to go to the game?” I said “yes ma’am”, and she smiled at me, handed me a ticket, and said “have a great time, Geaux Tigers” I didn’t know that was the players and family entrance they were walking into, and I didn’t know until watching the CWS highlight from the previous year that the lady who gave me a ticket to what is still probably the most amazing baseball game I’ve ever had the privilege of attending was Ms Sandy Bertman. She gave me that opportunity to witness Jacque Jones and Todd Walker put on an absolute show.
God Bless Ms Sandy, and may she RIP

Hate to hear of this. Before the 2019 National championship game I ran across the Bergman’s walking on Canal Street. Both were exceedingly nice. RIP, Ms Sandy.
