That diagnosis is a death sentence...

Those that are downvoteing me, do your research. Cholangiocarcinoma is deadlier than pancreatic cancer. It may be the deadliest cancer on earth. You are talking about a cancer win a 10 year survival rate closer to 0% than 1%.

It will be a miracle for Randy Moss to be alive in 2026.

unfortunately that’s correct. We had a lady in our neighborhood with bile duct cancer and she only lasted a few months. It’s a horrible diagnosis.

But prayers for Moss to somehow beat it.

Are you thinking of T.O.?

I mean even T.O. never did any of that stuff you quoted the original poster on. All I can remember about T.O. is him and Donovan McNabb getting into it one time. But I think Randy and T.O. get a bad rap by some people because they both were outspoken guys. It's kinda like what OBJ is today.

but yeah, my prayers are for Randy Moss to recover. I don't wanna see anybody suffer no matter how I may feel about them.

We had a friend that was diagnosed with bile duct cancer last year.. it was inoperable and they told him there was nothing that could be done. There was no chance for survival because it had spread. He lived about 6 months in terrible pain.

If he had the Whipple procedure, he probably had pancreatic cancer. That procedure makes u a insulin dependent diabetic and causes severe weight loss.

Cholangiocarcinoma

My mom got diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma of the liver. Underwent surgery at Ochsner (thanks Trevor Reichman). Got chemo/RT and has been cancer free for 11 years

Must be young guys downvoting you, because you nailed it. Moss was never a team player. He seemed to mature into that late in his career.

Moss was cocky because you could throw it in his direction and very few people could contest him going up and get the ball. He may have showed his A*& a few times but he was a generational talent in the NFL. I always liked that he could back it up.

You just couldn't stand the highlight shows all the way to the end too. He was a phenomenal WR. On most people's top 10s.

I remember his connection with White Chocolate: LINK

This may be one of the most ignorant statements I’ve ever read on here. Consensus too 5 WR in history of NFL and sting arguments can be made he is 2 just behind Rice. First ballot HOF’er and if you ever saw him actually play you would have seen he was almost indefensible. Dude made some of the most insane contested catches I had ever seen.

If I’m a QB and I have one throw at end of game to win the Super Bowl and success depended on WR running a perfect route against a super pass defense then I’m going Rice all day long. But if it depended on speed, stretching the field and likely having to make a Superman catch between 2 HOF level defensive backs, then Moss is your clear answer.

But yeah, he was ok

Lots of medical supposition on this threat. Whipples are done for extrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas and pancreatic head cancers. They (pancreas and cholangio) can behave similarly but with the new triplet therapies of chemo + immunotherapy (gem/cis/durvalumab) the response rates of cholangio can be better than pancreas. Also some cholangiocarcinomas have gene alterations that behave differently (IDH, FGFR) and are targetable by certain meds which is far less common in pancreatic cancer.

If he was early stage, he may do well.

All of the above comments about the aggressivenesss are indeed generally correct.

Anytime the bile duct, liver, or pancreas is involved, serious prayers are needed! Damn, he is too young for this.

I'm familiar with Whipple Surgery through my family's history, and that surgery is very difficult to recover from regardless of cancer.

This is a horrible diagnosis to have.
Treatment success for 5 year survival is less than 5% depending on the stage of the cancer.
Hope Moss is in that survival group.
Terrible for anyone but especially for someone his age.
Whipple is extremely difficult and dangerous procedure.
Facing radiation, chemo etc. difficult road ahead.
Very aggressive tumor but God is the only one calling the shots here.
Wish him the best. Especially bad at Christmas time.

It doesn't. Survival rates for pancreatic cancers are not good.
