Same thing happened to me. I went to.game but had 2 extra tickets. Paid face value for them and most I could get was 30 a piece. And they were great seats

That person was an idiot if they had any value for money.

okay you have just given me reason for contemplating suicide.

Fellas, unederstand that the admins see what is going on but they work under a different timetable. I'm not an insider but the business side of the house always works at a more deliberate pace than most fans care for. Decisions like hiring/firing coaches, etc. have more considerations than just fan opinion.

Watch you will see the same thing with the Saints in a few years.
I don't know about that.
The waiting list for the Saints could fill the dome once over and then some.
If the Saints go back to sucking, some will leave. But more will come in just to be glad to be there.
I had my tickets before Katrina, so I know how I couldn't even give away tickets. Now, I can sell PRESEASON tickets.

Nope. Just educated fans who realize we started out 4-0 the last two years so it doesn't mean crap when your offense is going to cost you at least 4 loses later in the year.
No, stupid fans that don't realize having a strong defense is more important than having a strong offense.
See 1998.
They find defense boring, and just want to see 80 yard bombs.

This. LSU (necessarily perhaps) upped the ante big time with the fans when TAF came into the picture and after the championships. It was no longer about fans and loyalty--it was about money. They priced the average fans out of season tickets on account of need for money. If LSU is going to charge what they do, they need to expect a backlash when the product not there.
If Miles made $700K and mandatory TAF donations did not exceed the cost of tickets, it would be a different attitude, for better or worse.

The fact that I'm berating fans for not supporting LSU makes you think I should root for another team?
frick you.
Why don't YOU go cheer for Air Force if all you want is offense.

Speak for yourself dipshit, some people realize what's going on. The reality is Miles isn't going anywhere this year. You and the bitches who boo and piss and moan on web sites won't change that. He will and deserves the chance to turn the offense around like the defense. The idiots who run around trying to destroy the LSU program that they so say love are not doing any good at all.

Tired of the product??????????
This defense alone is worth going watch. They attack like heat seeking missles out there.
The special teams is an added bonus. Sure the offense sucks, but that just gives you more of a chance to see this defense.

When Hallman was here, I could not even get people to go with me for free tickets. Once in '99, I was walking into the stadium with 4 unsold tickets. A guy offered me $5 a piece for them. I ripped them up in front of him. He was like, you just threw away $20.
4 tickets to an LSU game in '99, $140. Tearing the tickets up $20. The look on that dudes face, Priceless.

Basically if LSU were 4-0 having won games 49-35, people would be ecstatic. They don't want to see a championship level defense, they really don't care about the defense, they just want to see high-powered offense.
bullshite! People would be complaining that the defense is playing terrible, despite having all that talent. Sound familiar?

Very, Very true.

Defense wins championships.
Which is why the fans are so pissed right now. This defense is close to being the BEST IN THE NATION! With an average offense, we could compete for the title. The only thing holding this offense back is qb play or the coaches who are pulling the strings.
Any other coach who values his job, would have pulled his starting qb with stats that JJ has put up thus far.

I agree with most of this. People definitely find high-powered offenses exciting. In many cases defense is more important than offense, but we probably all can admit that we would like to see a bit more out of the offensive talent LSU has. You know, to take some pressure off the defense.
And you're probably right on about the hypothetical 49-35 wins. Wouldn't have nearly the amount of bitching we have now.

My buddy wanted to go to WV game so he bought us both a ticket in the end zone lower bowl for $35 a piece. This was 4 hours before game time. I had told all along to wait 5 min before kickoff. Anyway we started really enjoying the tailgate and decided about an hour before kickoff we would stay at the tailgate and watch on TV. So my buddy tries to sell the 2 tix for what he paid and he is getting under priced by $10 by others. This was a top 25 matchup no less. In years past you couldn't get anywhere in the lower bowl for $25-$35 a ticket.
You are always going to get a lower price closer to kickoff no matter what game. I have been buying tickets this way for years. If you try to buy Saturday morning you will pay full price and then some. Just before kickoff and people are just trying to get a little concession cash for the game and will sell low. Has nothing to do with the product on the field which is 4-0 by the way.

I really don't get statements like this.
Should fans, who are now paying prices double what they were paying then, expect less?
Should Saints fans automatically revert back to the early '80s thinking just because they won a Super Bowl?
Or should both fan bases hold the programs accoutable for putting the best product on the field at all times? This a business! We the consumers should demand that we get the best for our money. People are upset right now, not because they are winning ugly, but because when the meat of the schedule gets here, this team will NOT continue winning.
First of all, take your Saints shite to the Saints board.
Second, expect less than what, winning all the ball games?
Third, you have no idea what a business it is. Les Miles is paid for W's, NOT yards per game. He's winning however he can right now, and that happens to be with a great defense and great special teams while not throwing pic 6's. He's personally got MILLIONS of dollars riding on this team - you don't.
The fans are upset because they want to see the bomb. They don't know if LSU will win or lose any or all of it's remaining games. Why get upset over shite that hasn't even happened yet?
quote:
The fans see it coming.
Yeah, just like they saw the 2007 BCSCG coming, or the 2003 BCSCG coming after the loss to UAB. The fans are stupid and fickle.
They don't see shite.

Been waiting two plus seasons and I see a offense in decline right now.
I will happily give Miles the props for turning around the defense. Good job. That was important.
Now give me something positive to note about the offense that might lead me to believe we aren't going to end up having a worn the hell out defense that is going to lead to 4 or more losses this year because our offense sucks so bad.
You go ahead and keep having your little "I'm a better fan than you" pipe dream while out teams is putting up as many penatly yards as passing yards.

Overall, it's less an issue of Xs and Os -- more macro than micro.
Many people do thing for many reasons, there is not one reason why people sell tickets. A lot of times it's simply that people buy more than they need because if they don't they will no longer have them. I have had a package of 4 tickets that has been in the family for many years, but currently it's just my wife and I that live in BR and regularly go, but I'm not about to give them up because if I do I'll never get them back.
Also, people see that they're paying for filet mignon, and getting hamburger, or even worse they're getting filet mignon that's poorly cooked, which is even more frustrating.
