The radio/media personalities seem to think that Orgeron doesn't want anything to do with Hugh Freeze.

I just hope CEO is smart enough to demote E back to the TE job.

These are the questions to ask, because any elite OC will ask them.
Also, who is the AD and if he is good, how safe is his job?
Who is the HC, and, if he is good, how safe is his job?
Will they let me do my job uninhibited by others?
what do the prior OC's say about this job and the HC?
Expect few elite OC's to be willing to take the riskes...

Orgeron is setting up SE to max out his retirement, once his contract expires at the end of next year. Hiring a young, firebrand Co-OC at the end of this year, as an OC in waiting, makes perfect sense. It will be justified by both the exit of Sullivan and the weak statistical showing of the offense. Look for K. Briles to get a full vote of confidence from both Applewhite and Kiffin, and come on board, possibly in time for post season play.

Keep talking.... I like it.

Dan Enos, Alabama QB coach and former Arky OC. He was always able to get a lot of mileage out of his QBs and has been Tuas QB coach all season. Since Locksley is the OC he would probably be very interested at a chance to come to LSU and coach the athletes we have.

With stops at Cincinnati, Central Michigan and Arkansas, out of his last 11 QBs 6 have passed for 3000+ yards. That's not including Tua this year.

Sterlin Gilbert is the guy

quote:

Gilbert’s previous four offenses at four different programs prior to arriving at USF posted a combined average of 505.3 yards and 36.8 points per game, producing 304.3 yards per game through the air and 200.9 yards per game on the ground.

quote:

In his first season at USF, Gilbert’s offense ranked in the top 25 in eight NCAA statistics, including sixth in total offense (513.0 ypg), eighth in rushing (264.1 ypg) and 10th in scoring (38.3 ppg).

quote:

Gilbert’s Texas offense ranked 17th in the nation and second in the Big 12 in rushing (293.3 ypg) and was 16th nationally and fifth in the Big 12 in total offense (491.3 ypg).

I'mma say it once more....fire O and Ens. Hire Jeff BROHM OC and QB coach solved, let him hire offensive staff. Keep Aranda and Corey.

It's not ideal and understand where you're coming from.

But if you don't change and next year is the same result, this statement changes to "you gotta keep SE and not screw up/hurt Brennan".

Then it becomes, Brennan is gone, do you really want to have a new OC and new QB.

You make tough decisions now to build the future.

If we dont see vast improvement over our last 4 games this year in the offense I see no reason not to go after a top OC.

You'd really want to retain Ensminger if the offense continues to suck the next month if we CAN go out and get someone like Kendal Briles who has had 3 Top 10 scoring offenses in 4 seasons as OC at 3 different schools? Someone that has a proven track record, not someone who has been no better than the guy we fired LAST year for mediocre offense.

Our players need more time in learning a system to gain experience/timing instead of switching offensive playbooks every year.

Thats weird because opposing teams defenses have already learned our playbook in a weeks time.

Lubick would be something i was interested in trying

Maybe you should apply for the head coaching gig so you can make these sort of decisions

Week if and when they decide to part ways with SE as OC, I hope they hire a coaching firm because lord knows the Athletic Department has no idea what a modern day offense looks like.

yet other teams can have a different OC and not miss a beat.

Alabama has had 3 in 3 years and keep getting better. Guess LSU is the only school that takes years to learn our OCs complex system. Once again, it's not the system, its the players
