I'm just going to trust that Woodward will make the best decision. He isn't a usual Woodward hire, so if we did land him then I think it would be one or two things:
1 - a bigger name didn't want the job.
2 - Napier blew Woodward away so much in the interview that he couldn't pass him up, even over bigger fish.
exactly where i am too. I feel like i would prefer Fickel, but both had to rebuild the current program. I would be extremely happy with Cristobal. would be happy with fleck, campbell and some others too.
but franklin, urban, Kiffen, Freeze, Briles are not happening for all the field issues in their past. It just can not happen at a school under title IX
bob stoops, riley, jimbo, rhule, pederson, brian kelly and some others are not leaving their current positions and are no go.
sit down and interview and see where it takes us.

Well Meyer being fired doesn't necessarily mean he's available. He typically takes a few year sick, or family time, vacation after his stints.

Darkhorse for sure. He didn't have much success at the HS level, but I believe he grew overall. He was on the verge of greatness there had that 8th grade coach not screwed him over.

That doesn't mean you don't kick some tires to see what happens. You never know. We could offer Kelly A LOT more money than he is making right now. Jimbo and Riley, not so much.
Didn't Stoops mess around in the XFL? Pederson has said he wants to be a HC again. So I'm not sure that if a situation came that they couldn't pass up, that they don't jump right in.
And again, I'm not saying that all of these people will be serious candidates. But they are certainly worth mentioning.

Perhaps you should read up on why he walked away at Oklahoma. He didn't have to and he has let it be known that he doesn't want another coaching job.
