Reaves and Pearson both should not play in meaningful games. Jay starting Reaves for one singular at bat was a real head scratcher.

I think Yorke needs to be benched as well, he’s a liability at first and really hasn’t had any great at bats lately. I say let Dardar or Simpson play first for now. Need to get Stanfield back badly as well. Then I think Braun should be the everyday DH.

Also move Carraway up please. Has been our most consistent player not named Jake brown yet is stuck in the 9 hole for some reason.

Thoughts? This team is just in a serious serious funk but the longer it goes on the harder it is to keep saying “we will be fine, trust Jay”

Jay wants him to step up because the dude has a big bat if he ever hits the ball. But then CJJ had to pull him after your DH watched Strike 3 and did the pretend jog to first like he thought he got walked.

That's enough of Reaves for a while for me. He does not take the bat off his shoulder. I bet CJJ is about to stop experimenting with him.

Too early for anyone to be everyday except Curiel and Milam. I do like Braun though. Ruckert needs a shot at 2B

I was never a huge Stanfield fan but he and Brown should both be locked in, when healthy.

The infield should be wide open, other than Milam. No one has played well enough so far.

C Arrambide
1B Yorke
2b Simpson / Dardar
3b Carraway
SS Milan
LF Stanfield
Cf Curiel
RF brown

DH Braun / Simpson

That’s a pretty damn good team. Just need to post it and stick with it and get these guys consistent comfortable reps

This is what I envision minus Yorke. He just isn’t a great everyday first baseman and the bat hasn’t been good enough right now to justify it. Not to mention he was jawing at the northeastern pitcher down by 10, I’m not a fan at the moment.

I’m sure Simpson can play first base

Agreed, and Caraway will be moved up once Stanfield is back. Stanfield will bat 9. Jay likes that because it’s like having two leadoff batters bookending your lineup.

Also, Milam needs to be moved to 8. Cade out of the cleanup spot. Need somebody that can protect Yorke.Yorke will be fine.

Yamin needs to be there every day 1B and that’s in my post history for the last 8 months.

2B is bad right now. Dardar threw a routineDP into the dirt earlier. The kid really has no position but we have 4 guys like him who hit but can’t field. Dickinson was a stud who lived and breathed baseball but was also just a good dude to have on the team. Getting Stanfield back will help tremendously

Eddie needs more ABs and reps IMO. His defense and receiving behind the plate was much improved in the fall and preseason.

I like Caraway, and he's one of the few guys playing well enough not be benched. However, his OB% is bad. He's got the third-best batting average and the worst OB% (of the starters). I like that he doesn't K, but he also doesn't walk. I think he should move up, but I'm guessing Jay likes having him in the 9 hole for some reason.

Some of the guys need to try and hit the ball the other way. Too many weak ground balls to the pull side are killing them

Braun went 0-12 in the last 4 game series and looked really bad in a few ABs. Every AB for Ruckert was hit on the screws. If he’s gonna play with the lineup I’d say give Ruckert a shot at DH.

Why would you DH one of your better defensive players? If Ruckert gets into the lineup it will be at second base.

Yorke has an OBP of .470(3rd best of regular starters) and 3rd of regular starters in wRC behind Brown and Dardar.

Not sure what yall are seeing, but im seeing a dude who sees alot of pitches, draws lots of walks, leads the teams in hbp’s, but k’s occasionally because of the approach. He is a staple in the lineup and shouldnt be removed.

CF Curiel L .333
SS Milam S .260
RF Brown L .400
3B Carraway R .310
1B Braun L .281
C Arrambide R .279
2B Dardar/Simpson L/R .265/.353
DH Yorke/Pearson L/R .256/.333
LF Stanfield R .286

Let Braun start at 1st and see how he looks defensively. He can’t be worse than Yorke or Pearson. Also, he takes more competitive at bats. Simpson should see more time at 2nd.

I like Milam at the 2 spot because he is our engine. For the past two seasons, it seems like when he plays good, everyone plays good.

Pearson gets the platoon spot because his brother did good in Omaha in 2023. Nice

After brown and Curiel, Braun takes the best ABs on the team.
