The Tiger Band from Bayou Land will be very solid, and it will not be under the direction of Gary Crowton.....seriously, Patrick Peterson, Reuben Randle, Chad Jones, Russell Shepperd, and Jordon Jefferson to name a few reasons to get pumped

1.) Billy Gonzales effect on the overall passing game. That's in both the passing and receiving aspects of it. Hopefully, better WR and QB development and performance. Maybe some of Meyer has rubbed off on him and it translates over to much better coaching of LSU's existing talent. Want to see what he can do, if anything, with JJ/JL (if he doesn't transfer) and particularly Garrett. (Is he the next Tommy Hodson and if so, will he be allowed to take over and play as a redshirt freshman)
2.) Bigger, stronger, more experienced OL. (BTW, this would be my starting five. LT-Barksdale LG-Blackwell or Hurst Center-Lonergan RG-Blackwell or Hurst RT-Dworaczyk)
3.) Further defensive improvement in year two under Chief Thirdan Chavis. Who's going to replace Cutrera at Mike making all the on-field calls? (Important).
4.) Frank Wilson letting the best running back play, regardless of seniority and no BS playing playing politics/favorites like Porter apparently did............

Because the guy that gave the world Percy Harvin now has his paws on Russel Shepard.

Okay, I'll give it a try. Most people know I'm as critical as they come of Miles, so I won't give you a backhanded compliment.
I think we will still be the most talented team in the SEC. I think we'll have something we haven't had in awhile, and that's experience at QB (We have Russell Shephard if JJ fails again). We have the most talented D secondary in the country (as we did this year). It looks like we have some people (at least Downs) on the DL who are reminicent of the playmakers we've had in the past. Somebody once posted that Alabama will lose 8 starters on defense this year, and Tebow is gone and UF has been wierd this offseason...so, this will prolly be the last chance to win the SEC in awhile if what I believe is true (that Les Miles will continue to run LSU into the ground), or at least, the easiest year to win the SEC in awhile (if like all you Miles Apologists believe, Les Miles' genius is just waiting to unhatch underneath the hat). Miles sounds, and I stress "sounds," like he is wanting to put some more fire into practices and change the direction of this program and the way he coaches...if that results in a more disciplined program with more disciplined players...that can't be a bad thing.
Billy Gonzalez is a nice addition...he's been around a consumate winner his entire coaching career and should add some of that discipline and execution to the offense that I've been talking about.
