If we had lost to Florida, I think Harris would already be our starting QB. That three game winning streak and a close loss against Bama helped his case.
Now that we're 7-4, Harris deserves snaps against A&M and the bowl game no matter what the circumstances are.

I think this is a HUGE part of it. It seems to me that Harris will improvise and call the audible at the line of scrimmage. Les does not like this.
I always though that may be a possibility...specially if he threw an int during one of those times.

Apparently quarterback is the only position where certain players are allowed to make the same mistakes without being penalized.
Let me tell you a little tale about a magical position called middle linebacker. . .
Also let me tell you a tale about a magical position called kick off specialist where you are allowed to kick it out of bounds in every end game scenario.
Finally, there's the truly magical position of special teams coordinator where you get rehired after you've been fired from two consecutive jobs, one of which was on this very staff.

If it's 4, then it's on Miles for poor recruiting, bad offensive philosophy and an inability again to develop a quarterback. If you don't know by watching a player in the recruiting process that he might be free-wheeling and you need a conserative QB, then that's on you. If your philosophy demands you play a inferior-skilled QB, then that's on you. And not being able to develop a particular QB speaks for itself.

It's 4. Harris is a raw, but talented Freshman. He has more potential but you risk ruining him a la Lee. He should have been red-shirted. Jennings doesn't make good decisions yet, and has short-comings in the passing game. Also, Jennings was starting to come unglued in the Arkansas game. He got pretty feisty with the refs and did a good bit of jawing with the Arkansas D. He was rattled and it obviously affected his game.
Miles did not adequately sequence his recruiting of Quarterbacks so that a Junior/Senior QB and backup were ready to step in. If he wants maturity and game management he should probably look to older players. I'm sure Miles is trying to avoid the Jefferson/Lee fiasco again. At this point, we can only hope that Cameron will get them ready to play next year.
Maybe he should bench them both and go to a Wildcat package. :)

Just because of Jarret Lee doesn't mean that the same thing will happen to everyone else. If Harris is the future, we all know he is, then he needs experience. He does not have a maturity issue, he feels frustrated that he cannot help his team. I can't imagine how he feels seeing Jennings shite the bed every game but is given over a season to improve and there hasn't been. Yet Harris has played well, screwed up at a top 5 time on the road, first start then completely vanishes. The freshman excuse is bullshite, he has had a season and all spring. He knows the playbook. Les is stubborn and wants to run things his ways. He has shown in the past he plays favorites at times. There is zero reason for Harris to not earn snaps. If he does not earn snap vs A&M then you can bet next year will be the same. Les will stick with Jennings because he has more experience. We all know how this works.... if he isn't given the chance I don't think I see a light at the end of this tunnel for Harris. This team deserves better and it starts with the staff. They need to do something different. I am not saying things will be way better with Harris, but its no doubt he has outplayed Jennings when he has played, and is the more talented one. The bottom line is we will never know if he will be ready if he is not given the chance. Hopefully this game changed Les completely.

1. If Harris plays against Arkansas and performs poorly, then what hope would the team have for the immediate future? Miles knew that Harris struggled mightily against Auburn and another poor effort by the true freshman would mean that the QB situation is a complete disaster (more so than it already is). The dysfunctional nature of the LSU QB position under Miles is well-documented and Miles is trying to insulate himself from that as much as possible. By not playing Harris, the jury would still be out on Harris. Miles is essentially protecting Harris and covering his own butt at the same time.
I believe that CLM is holding BH out of bad circumstances so he does not set him back in building his skills and confidence. If he had put BH in the Ark game and they blitzed the hell out of him and he played poorly again as a result then it could damage his psyche as the theory goes. Not sayin I agree with that but you got to figure how Les thinks.

I think it's entirely possible that Les doesnt want everyone to panic. We still have some faith in Harris, but if he were to repeat a performance similar to Auburn, many of us would lose all hope. Give Harris another offseason to develop and work him in next year is our only hope at QB for the immediate future.

4. Miles truly believes that Jennings was his best chance to win games. Look at it this way, Jennings was QB during LSU's three game win streak and its near win against Alabama. Jennings led the team to the win over Wisconsin, and did enough in relief at the end of last season. Miles' gameplans might also call for a conservative, game manager QB versus a gunslinger like Harris.
This, this is what Miles' sees and believes. Agree or disagree, that is understandable, but it really is this simple.
I disagree BTW. But damn, if there is someone who wants LSU to do well more than anyone, it is Miles. He believes this is the best choice given everything he considers.

I couldn't agree more. Peveto is a bozo. But I guess we really shouldn't be surprised by this.

#5 The equipment manager forgot the other playbook wrist band at home and the one used by Jennings had only his plays on it. This was confirmed on FOXY news this morning.

I'm not sure which choice it is....but I wish to hell Miles would quit lying about playing Brandon every GD week. It makes him look like a complete horses arse.

If Harris was in the dog house, Miles would have no business even hinting at him playing or getting a real opportunity.. so I just don't buy that.
Miles is simply hard headed to make a switch here.

On pass plays, Jennings has still not learned what to do if the first receiver is covered. He also waits too long to make a decision!

This is a bit of a stretch. The guy has looked lost more often than not. I am not saying he wouldn't be better with more reps (and I want him to get those reps). However, you are implying that his on the field work has been good. That is simply not the case.
