God forbid this happens, but if the ncaa were to green light the football season this year with no fans, how would y’all expect that to play out?

It would be a nightmare IMO to have Texas and Bama this year at home with no true home field advantage. We could obviously still win both games, but it would be total BS to miss out on those games as fans.

I hate UT with a burning passion growing up around that fan base all my life, and was really looking forward to whooping their arse and treating them like they did us in Austin last year while doing it. Also believe having Mac jones and bama with a real DV atmosphere would really help us start a winning streak over the gumps

True, but beating Texas and bama would have more impact than a Florida or auburn L

Bama wouldn’t be able to handle 100,000 drunk tiger fans screaming on the score board via zoom.

Would be weird to have a near empty stadium and still have 50k people outside tailgating. Fans or no, I’ll still be out there drinking keg beer and cooking

True for Bama, not true for Texas. Beating or losing to a top 20 OOC opponent does not make or break a season. Need wins in conference.

I don't

Playing with no fans almost meaningless from a financial perspective. Ticket sales/concessions, etc. still account for the largest chunk of revenue generated by the schools. If you play the games without fans it's not as if all of the expenses with playing the game go away (although they will certainly be reduced by not having to account for 100k on campus). Yet, the largest portion of the revenue is now gone. TV money alone is not going to allow the athletic departments to fully fund all of the non-revenue sports. Football...WITH fans...is necessary to fund college athletics on nearly all of the major college campuses.

I haven’t looked into the numbers but I can’t imagine they’d even be proposing games with no fans if it was a losing proposition financially.

Imagine the 2019 season without fans.

I'd rather them push the season back an entire year before playing with no fans. What a disservice to everyone involved. Players feed off the crowd, games are more interesting when the crowd is involved. Do you know how many upsets I watched last year because I wanted to see fans rush the field? UVA/Vtech, Illinois/Wisconsin, Oklahoma/K State, and many more you tune into because you can almost feel the energy through the screen. It's part of the sport.

Imagine LSU/Texas with no fans. Imagine LSU/UF with no fans. LSU/Bama, no crying fans to zoom in on.

It's not worth it.

I don’t think they will play without fans. Football won’t happen at all unless kids are in the dorms. And if you cram thousands of 18-22 year olds from all over the country and world into dorms, why couldn’t people attend a football game?

Need a sound system that can be heard in New Orleans. Play the crowd noise on it. Some boom boxes I am sure can duplicate the earth quake game.

In case you missed VP Mike Pence's comment , he said there would be no sports played until students were back on campus. Something different may have come out yesterday , but I don't think it will change when games will be played (w/o students)

If we go one loss we’re in.. people overestimate what you need but last year if Alabama got by auburn, oregon got by Arizona state, they’re both in even though they were both seen as done after their first loss

That shite isn’t going to happen.

How many times does it have to be said that the at risk need to stay at home? The rest of us can go to football games. Average healthy people are not going to die if they get this virus. It’s insane that playing with no fans is even a consideration.
