IDK about yall, but I'm ok with local and national media getting ratings boost if they get ppl to take proper precautions and the storms turns out to be a dud. That is much better than the alternative than downplaying it and the storm turns out to be more than expected.

Worrying? More like selfish excitement. I'm a 10 hour drive from Provo and would make a nice road trip out or it.

100%. It should have been moved already but Alleva isn't a leader so here we go again.

Lol

If it was moved already there would be outrage about him not letting the storm play out more.

But the fact that you're already pissed at him just shows that he will always be the villain in the eyes of some the idiots in our fan base.

I will imagine they will make a decision 8am the day of the game and then decide its too late to make a decision, and then cancel the game. Like the last 2 seasons they would rather stick their fingers in their noses and root around for 7 days than do anything that would help LSU.

They will just say it's fake news.

Start watching the rivers in southeast Houston. That's going to be when the real fun starts.

I'm not even convinces that flash flooding is going to be a real problem if this rainfall is spread out, but the water all has to go somewhere eventually.

Fail, not a fan of Alleva but you think he has the power to move this game whenever and wherever he wants?

This is my line of thinking. Similar to what happened in Baton Rouge last year.

There's just so much water in southeast Texas. I'm wondering what the result will be to those rivers and bayous when all of this rain is done coming down next Friday or so.

I'm 20 miles outside of downtown Houston and it's stopped raining. There's also no wind and we're about to head out to Lowes to take advantage of this gloomy day.

At least I'm stocked up on liquor and beer.

It's going to be on and off in Houston today and tomorrow. Houston won't see the rain totals rise fast until early next week when they're not just catching the outer bands.

The outer bands is where all the rain is.

Let's all remember that the game in Gainesville should not have been canceled last year.

It's pretty funny watching people in BR tell
Houston residents how fricked they are

People blowing off this storm in Htown now because it's not raining much now really don't have any common sense or logic. Houston is getting a short reprieve at the expense of places like Baytown because this storm stalled earlier than expected.

Saturday wasn't the day they expected the highest issues. It will be through Tuesday and Wednesday when this storm breaks up into a massive downpour over the state.

It's not a wostcase scenario by any means thankfully but this is likely just the calm before the storm for HTown.

The water from surrounding areas does not drain into Houston. That's not how it works here. When people talk about the southern part of the state or southeastern Texas, it isn't like it is in Louisiana. What happens in San Antonio does NOT impact what happens in Houston, lol. It is a MUCH bigger area. Don't take my word for it, look at a map! It sure as hell does not drain UP from Corpus, LOL.

You can see what's really happening in Houston here, including bayou levels:

Harris County Flood Warning System

I don't have tickets to the game so there's no skin off my nose if they don't have it here. But the shite stirring I'm reading is even more eye rolling than what they're reporting on the news.

ETA: does NOT impact Houston. And I just hope we have the game...somewhere.

I'm not a meteorologist but I think the game will play, which is great for me.

I might still be able to fly to dallas for work on Monday, which is no bueno lol.
