Really just a holding pattern now. I wouldn't mine Sherevport. Help reestablish North LA as Tiger Country.

Obviously but I can't see it getting played if they can't do it in Houston. This is being put on by the people with the Texas Bowl. I don't think BYU would agree to come to Baton Rouge and I am pretty damn sure we wouldn't go to Provo. IMO its Houston or bust.

I'd bet my money on the game being played in Provo right now.

Parts of southwest Louisiana could experience severe or even catastrophic flooding, as well. We could have to allocate lots of resources and law enforcement to those areas.

I can tell you for sure that it'll be a lose/lose for Joe Alleva and the LSU athletic department. If we move the game to Provo and don't get them to make a return trip to LSU, people will be upset because we have to go all the way to Provo and get nothing in return. If we get BYU to make a return trip to Baton Rouge, you'll have your fans who say "We shouldn't have been playing a team like BYU in the first place. Now we have to play them twice?"

It's just going to suck regardless. Personally, if our best option is playing in Provo, that's what I hope we do.

The historical record of U.S. hurricanes gives us few, if any, analogs for a major hurricane landfall that transitions into a multi-day rainfall event as prolonged, extensive, and intense as the scenario painted by multiple forecast models for Harvey. All four of the high-probability 0Z Friday European model ensemble members, and all but one of the 20 GFS members, maintain Harvey at Cat 1 strength (or better) for the next five days.

So 24 of 25 models have this storm as at least a category 1 hurricane for 5 consecutive days, and it will be staying in the same relative area for the duration of those 5 days.

This could be one of the worst storms ever. The odds of the game being played as scheduled in Houston are dropping by the minute.

Latest trends don't point to that. Houston is still a bad looking situation though.
I have a novel idea. Everyone shut up and quit acting like idiots and lets wait until early next week and see if we have a little clearer picture about this whole mess? This is not directed at the OP, just in general.

Hopefully The powers that be will have made the necessary decisions by this Sunday and not still sitting on their hands like the Florida fiasco last year

Almost certainly won't be played in Houston. I agree.

I think it's going to be played in Provo, UT. That'll be weird.

At this point I don't care where they play as long as they play. I do have tickets and hotel reservations, but I'm pretty convinced this road trip isn't happening.

hy would you say this? Obviously, playing in Provo isn't ideal, but it is infinitely better than cancelling the game. We don't need another season with a lost game!

Money, Money, Money.

They are getting a multi million dollar guarantee to play this game at NRG Stadium. LSU is counting on this to cushion the blow from losing a home game in the Florida fiasco. Do you think they would lose that check and have to shell who knows how much to send the team to Provo? Nah it isn't in Houston it won't be played but hey that is just my opinion. But I do hope they play.

They're not losing anything whether it's moved or cancelled. LSU gets $4 mil from ESPN no matter what happens. There is a weather clause in the tv contract.

Might cost a few more dollars for the charter plane to Provo instead of Houston. That's about it.

Ok so why not a neutral site? Why are so many willing to give BYU a home game? Go to Dallas and play on Labor Day.

It takes hundreds and hundreds of employees to fully staff the stadium and surrounding area for a game day at an NFL stadium. Plus all of the law enforcement that must be on hand.

That's 9-10 days from now. Not sure that's realistic.

Hosting it on either LSU or BYU's campus makes the most sense. You will have people in those towns more likely to come and work at the stadiums to help out their alumni or favorite team. Also, attendance for a game at LSU or BYU would be relatively low (remember South Carolina in 2015). You wouldn't need as many people to staff that game.

I'd like to think all those options are being looked at. I'm certainly not advocating for BYU. But it's probably an option. As would Tiger Stadium or the Dome if the forecast didn't involve Louisiana.

I'm probably one of the few still hopeful for Houston.

You have to make that decision Monday, because you still have to load the semi and get it there before the the team gets there.
