I think they owe it to the paying customers to keep them abreast of what they're considering. Don't know why this has to be some top secret type of issue.

Why is it important at this minute to know what they "are considering"? I don't care what LSU is "considering". Just tell me what the plan is WHEN IT COMES TO PASS. Putting out too many statements about what we are "considering" will more serve to confuse people than anything else.

What do you want LSU to say right now?

The obvious answer here is to move it to Tempe, AZ.

You might be on to something.

2005: LSU moves game to Tempe; Astros end up in the World Series.
2017: LSU moves game to Tempe.........

What do you mean "too many statements?" Just say current plan is the play the game in Houston. Back up plan is to play the game _______" We will decide by ______." What's confusing about that?

Duh. No statement is needed for that.

There is no possible way the logistics have been worked out this far in advance for a possible relocation of the game. The 2 schools would have to agree to the site, hotel rooms and a stadium would have to be secured, ticket plans have to be put into place, etc. Yeah, they might have some ideas where they might would relocate the game to...but why throw those out there now?

We will decide by ______.

Why put an artificial deadline on this? They will decide when the time is right.

The point is, no, we do NOT need to be told of every little step along the way.

I'm hearing all kinds of things about how the game may be cancelled. I hope the gulf coast can get through this storm without much problems and everybody stays safe but this is ridiculous if we get a cancelled game 3 years in a row. Hopefully both admins are scrambling to find an alternative if this is going to be the case. Can't believe this

You better hope if it is cancelled it is raining hard the day of the game or Florida fans are going to be all over you guys!

Well here is your statement from LSU.

quote:

First and foremost, our thoughts and best wishes are with our neighbors in South Texas and of course with our friends and family here in South Louisiana as Hurricane Harvey draws near. We know all too well the challenges of facing a storm of this magnitude and stand ready to assist in any way we can.

The season-opening football game against BYU in Houston September 2nd remains as scheduled. We are actively monitoring the situation in South Texas and will be in regular contact with Houston officials and NRG Stadium representatives to fully assess conditions on the ground while keeping a close eye on developments here in Louisiana as the storm unfolds.

Nice touch, but did we really learn much from that statement? I mean, if it makes people feel better just to hear "something", then that is fine...but there is no earth shattering news there.

LSU's statement is BS. There better be a definitive plan B in case Houston can't host the game, which is a much more realistically happening now than it was yesterday.

And you are among the mental midgets who believes that just because LSU hasn't announced every little detail about what is going on behind the scenes then that means they are doing NOTHING.

There will be a plan. There is no need to release that plan until need be.

I trust that this game will get played somewhere and that the public will be informed when the time is right.

From your lips to God's ears! If this game doesn't get played somewhere on Labor Day weekend, it represents a complete, inexcusable failure by the LSU and BYU athletic departments. They will have had plenty of time to develop contingency plans. If it's not absolutely clear by Tuesday that we will be able to play somewhere in Texas or Louisiana, we need to just move the game to Provo.

in no way shape or form do i see this game being played in Houston next Saturday. The hurricane was just updated to a cat 3. 12"-18" rain in Houston. By Wednesday the storm is expected to be sitting on top of Houston. Are you guys serious?

The only people that know what the options are, at this point, are in the LSU Athletic Department, and they're not saying anything. I think they'll see what the storm does this weekend, and let everyone know Monday or Tuesday.
