I think Curly Hallman said the same thing.

Some people are satisfied with mediocrity and occasional good luck. I am not one of those so I guess that makes me a negitiger.

+1

I do not embrace mediocrity for a major collegiate program that pays coaches millions per year.

Edit: I did not give up completely on Les Miles until 2009 Ole Miss.

And we would rather go game by game without having some douchebag telling us we don't even need to watch any more games cause we already lost them all.

Your whole post is outstanding, and I've made a dozen posts today basically repeating the part that I'm quoting.

I don't have a problem with people expressing frustration with what went wrong with players or coaching. But let the games be played. LSU might lose several games, but they might not. Sure, the ghosts of last season dropped by in the 2nd half last night, but we still held on. And there were signs of improvment, despite what some people don't want to see.

Nice way to take out of context. But honestly, we beat a scout team and lucked into it... nothing to celebrate.

We "Lucked" into it?

The game I watched last night...LSU was not the team that failed to comeback from a 20 point deficit.

LSU was the team that had a questionable holding call on a TD that would have made the game 37-10.

What were the negatigers saying at halftime?

The 4th quarter was really bad. But those that put too much stock into the first game of the season do so at their peril.

I've seen enough football to not get riled up by one game or one half or one quarter. Positive or negative.

UNC was the team with a controversial no-call on a near successful game-winning touchdown attempt.

Les needs to go because we missed the field goal on the opening drive...and..."the announcers are against LSU." (they always say that one)

Agreed. But that never happens if the first one doesn't.

By that time it didn't matter...UNC had already covered.

LSU, Florida, and Texas looked bad, and won. There are ample things that need to be improved, but would you frickers rather LSU lost? 13 ugly wins us called a perfect season.

Ole Miss. We could be....Ole Miss.

They were mostly quiet during the first half, as I remember it.

Some frustration set in when the roughing the kicker penalty gave the UNC offense a spark and they started moving the ball and scored.

And Jefferson's INT in the closing seconds of the first half sent waves of anxiety through the masses, I think there were at least 2 pages of lamentations in the game thread about him not improving when that happened.

I move that we permanently ban the lame terms "positiger" and "negatiger".

Not acceptable. In fact, this typically drives the negatigers into a frenzy and results in insults and name-calling.

Well, I actually coach football and why I'm not completely happy with the situation I'm not going to nit pick like a woman on everything that messes up. These are kids as much as you want them to all be Ray Lewis and Peyton Manning they aren't going to be. I understand how hard it is to win one game let alone 8 or 9. How does me constantly bitching so much that I can't enjoy a football game change anything about our current conversation.

Forever LSU!!!

It's all a matter of perspective. I'm not happy about the way LSU let UNC back into the game, but I saw signs last night that lead me to believe that LSU can be a very good team this year. So I choose to focus on the positives. Negatigers on the other hand see reason to be concerned and choose to believe that the team will be no better than last year.

Again, just a matter of perspective.

Same here. I'm still optimistic. Last night did dampen my optimism a little, but I don't think any team we still have to play is automatically a loss at this time.

Interesting spin. The game I watched, LSU did everything to blow a 20 point lead to a team missing 13 players, 7 defensive starters. They had an 8 minute stretch of the second quarter where we showed greatness and that was it... 8 minutes... yes we exploded, but that wont happen every game. Im tired of "negatiger" being applied to all realists around this program. Our qb doesnt know what intentional grounding is and after the holding call, we coulda still hit a fg to make it 33-10 if we didnt constantly fill the role of the dumb team on the field...

What this............ his loss or this victory?

this stumbling and bumbling against teams we should beat like d2 teams or wash. etc., needing luck to win at georgia, the debacle at ole miss, and now losing to the better teams like fla ala penn st. it has been rough for a while an UNC was pitiful.
