It would be akin to paying a players friend likely.

not really, b/c the victim isn't an associate of the player

but with the current actions of the NCAA (who is judge and juror), they can choose to pursue it.

it still has to violate a rule

the best case for the NCAA would be lack of institutional control (for this and other transgressions)

Well I have never made such a bold statement on here, and that came straight from a players mouth to a girl that told me.

The bigger issue is LSU is on probation right now, and the last thing we need is another potential major violation.

This is the point I was trying to make.

We don't need to be giving those guys any more reasons to come down here and poke around.

Miles should have read the reports by now from witnesses.

My guess is he reads them and the police report and asks the players their account and sees who's lying

i don't think you're lying, but the least reliable information posted is typically the "friend/girlfriend of a player" chatter

You do realize that the latest media reports are that the players are not meeting with the police until Tuesday now?
But we are supposed to believe a girlfriend of a player who told you that they heard JJ was to be picked up by the police today?

Ah but that is where you are wrong. The victim in that case WOULD be associated to the player. Having an association does not mean long time connection. They are associated based on the incident. Thus, it would be a violation.

Think of this example. Player has a car wreck and a booster pays the repairs to fix the other person's car. That is a violation that directly benefited the player. Same thing here, a settlement would benefit the player by avoiding trial. A lawyer going pro bono for said player would also be a violation.

Yes.

He HAS to give the appearance of giving a shite and sending a message that:

A) LSU will not put up with this kind of behavior.

B) HE will not put up with this kind of behavior.

It's a PR battle at this point.

Whether the players were provoked or not, 10-15 LSU FB players cannot gets themselves in a situation like they found themselves in.

So, yes, he will have to dish out some suspensions soon.

50 players? When are people going to start calling for Miles' head? This kind of activity has been a pattern under him as he can't control his teams. 50 players? Give me a break.

Yes I heard the changes before I posted this. She said that was a call at 11pm last night from someone on the coaching staff. Things could have changed this morning after lawyers met.

No, but the booster would be providing a payment to the injured party in on the player's behalf in exchange for a service rendered (i.e., dropping charges). That could be construed as an improper benefit.

OK I have spoken to a players girlfriend. Said player got a phone call last night saying that JJ would be picked up today and booked. He will be the one charged with second degree battery, but that charge probably wont stick. He also said JJ will sit for at least 2 games as of now, but could be out for more. I'm sure the info about him being picked up today could have changed since last night, but supposedly about 10 people have come forward, saying they saw JJ step on the guys head, and he has the road rash on his face as proof.
