Duke students have to sit in broken glass and fire ants. That’s why they stand the whole time.

Students attend games. We would go to games all the time and never once sat in the student section.

Basketball isn't part of the culture enough (yet) for students to drive back to school while they're on break to attend a basketball game. Especially non-conference. I know lots of students have requested tix for Jan 3 against Kentucky though. I'll be there

I think you hit the nail on the head there K. When I was a student I never missed games during the break. I'd drive in from New Roads with several friends for the games. It was a no-brainer. And many students live in closer proximity to campus than that and don't even consider going.

But the culture is different now as you point out.

You people are fricking ridiculous...the students that sit in those “uncomfortable bleachers” are the ones being ridiculed.

Are we talking about high school here or something? What the hell happened to turn college students into social status seekers? Do you have a cool table in the lunchroom too?

LSU needs to find a way to get their arse in the seats and it goes beyond the basketball program

Fish stinks from the head...Riverboat Joe is not concerned with gameday experience of fans, that’s a fact.

Again, typical sports bar hero who never played. LSU is mediocre and climbing and SFA is not a crappy team. They have two straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Learn about the teams and get off your bar stool

them Punks quit playing b-ball in 7th grade when the big black kid blocked that two hand set shot back in his face . It’s not a memory they choose to relive as a snowflake

And the view is absolute shite. Maybe if the student section could go back to being on the sideline then things would probably change.

This.

The “other schools” make sure the students have a good share of great seats. The genius athletic dept does not seem to recognize this. You think JA coming from Duke would make this happen.

Those other good seats must be for the Aramark execs.

And Duke students don’t attend football games. Much like football is not Duke fans’ favorite sport, LSU basketball is not our fans’ favorite sport.

Wasn't it Bertman that moved the basketball student section to the endzone? Huge mistake.

It used to be on the sidelines (With regular seats, not bleachers) and went from the floor all the way to the top of the upper level of the PMAC. Was always jam packed full with overflow back in the Late 70's/early 80's too. (The "Good Ole Days" of LSU Basketball)

I strongly suggest that some students go have a meeting with WW after the season and convince him to get the Athletic Department to move the students back to the sidelines. He seems like the type of coach that would do whatever possible to improve the games for students and get them into the arena.

Normal students are avoiding the students with social issues that sit close to the floor. Like Lsusuperfan93 and his boy

They showed up for the cousin Eddie hats and didn't stay for the game. Something about uncomfortable bleachers they were saying as they walked by

The lower and middle sideline seats sell out for the season and bring in a lot of money. Those seats were free and still stayed empty in the years before the move.
