Frank has pretty much single handedly held this recruiting class together. Dec 3 will be a great day for LSU.

Agreed. You see that badass DLineman from Karr that’s coming here? That doesn’t happen without Frank.

Without that relationship with Frank probably dont get that guy.

And Lamar Brown waiting at the Ops building was a nice touch.

This is such a trope. How many top 5 NOLA HS recruits annually has Frank missed out on? MOST OF THEM!!!

Define “top 5.”

Top 5 nationally?
There have been 3 NOLA recruits to be ranked top 5 overall national prospects during Frank’s LSU tenure. He pulled 2 of them (67%).

Top 5 at their position?
He’s pulled 9 of 12 (75%) NOLA recruits ranked in the top 5 at their position.

Top 5 on the state?
He’s pulled 8 of 12 (67%) NOLA recruits who ranked in the top 5 LA prospects.

All three of those lists include Arch Manning in the group who went elsewhere. If you ignore Manning (who was a unique scenario), it goes up to 100% of top 5 national prospects, 82% of top 5 at their position, and 73% of top 5 LA prospects.

There is no metric where he’s missed out on “most of them.”

MS year in and year out produces the most D-1 talent per capita.

False. That would be Louisiana.

And it’s not even close. Louisiana produces about double the d1 players per capita than Mississippi.

Louisiana - 1st in the country at 3.6 per 100,000
Mississippi - 4th in the country at 1.9 per 100,000

It gets even worse when you just count FBS schools:
Louisiana - 1st in the country at 3.7 per 100,000
Mississippi - 7th in the country at 1.9 per 100,000

NFL talent, LSU is second only to Georgia in this area, and that flip flops

NIL’s value is recruiting.

Frank is just a guy now.

NIL has most definitely closed the gap. But relationships still matter when the money is comparable, which in most cases it is. LSU's top recruiting locale will continue to be New Orleans and the metro area. That's why Frank is a college football coach, and he's not just recruiting RBs from that area.

As for his value as a position coach, I'd say the RB coach, on any staff, is the LEAST necessary position coach because RB is the most natural position on the team. It's why you've seen so many freshman over the decades (not just at LSU) shine immediately. It's not a position that requires tremendous teaching.

LSU's struggles in the running game have been largely because of a terrible approach to the running game as a whole. That's the fault of a bad OC. No RB could have great success under the crap Sloan put out there.

I'm not saying Frank is the only guy who can recruit NOLA. But if you have that guy on staff and he wants to stay on staff at a reasonable costs, there's no reason to let him go. The OC is going to determine the success of the RBs...not the RB coach.

You keep him on staff no matter what. Move him to recruiting full time but he stays

He’s on a $1m contract. Theres no “recruiting full time” position for that.

He can be Run game coordinator or some bullshite role.

We clearly need someone who can actually do that job, since we’ve been so bad at it.

Losing Frank will kill any Nola recruiting dreams of Kiffin

This is completely overblown with NIL. Pay them and they will come here.
