Please explain the band rule because it makes no sense

I'm not sure about others, but I look forward to seeing the band play in the stands and during halftime. How can we allow these huge football players to tackle, breathe, spit and grab one another all game, but we can't allow the band to perform? With only 25 percent capacity, it would seem like it would be easy to social distance the band. I watched a game the other day and one coach was using the same water bottle for all the players during a timeout. There were also several players and coaches with their masks around their necks on the sideline. Just doesn't make much sense to me!

I think the band is just not being allowed on the field. And it's an SEC mandate, not an LSU one. I can't explain it because it doesn't make sense. If they're going to let them play in the stands, it makes little sense not to let them also play on the field before the game and during halftime. If they're worried about the players, it would have been pretty easy to specify that the band will not be permitted to be on the field while the teams are.

Not that I agree with it, but they can play recorded music as a substitute for the band...not so easy to pull that off for the teams

They're worried about staff and fans. The less movement from the band, the less chance of potential contact with others.

Can you go from 100% band in the stands to 100% on the field, perform, then get 100% back into the stands before players are allowed back onto the field to warm up?
Do you think if they could, they would have spent the last century pre-staging on the sidelines a few minutes before halftime every single game?

The band probably isn’t getting tested. So they want to limit contact as much as possible with people on the field(refs, tv, players, coaches etc)

Everyone knows band members are dirty and gross. Don’t want them contaminating the players on the field.

They also split the band into two groups and are alternating which group goes to each game.
Someone explain why the band needs to be cut from 300 to 150 like that really is going to matter.

According to Fauci’s ten year study on the propagation of phlegm in a brass instrument featured in the scientific journal Nature— a Tuba can propagate viral matter out over an area roughly the size of tiger stadium. In the report, Dr Fauci recounted observing viral infected mucus droplets being shot out of a trombone over 1000 yards— “its as if musical instruments are a viral sniper rifle.”

Not a lot of this shite makes any sense at all. A bunch of power trippers decreeing all sorts of indefensible crap because they can.
Where have you been? You should know that by now.

What’s the purpose of splitting the band up? They won’t be traveling to any road games, so their only chance to play will be at home.

I don't know. That's what I'm asking.
I guess they are going to space them out so the trumpet players aren't spitting covid on the color guard.

If the band won’t be performing on the field, I doubt that the color guard or Golden Girls will even be In the stadium.

That’s because few of the scamdemic rules make sense. Clown world

I'm not sure but maybe it has something to do with the testing of the band? Does anyone know if they're being tested like the football team is? Do they get tested before they're even allowed to go in to the stadium?

I can't speak for the color guard but the golden girls 100% will be in the stands.
But they're being broken into two groups as well.

None of this makes any damn sense bruh
Social distance while playing in the stands would be tough and wouldn't really work. Everyone spread out six feet apart would be a pain in the arse trying to play together

The color guard is more at risk for Covid if you know what I mean.

The bottom line is that every SEC team is keeping any unnecessary personnel off the football fields. I heard Jacob Hester say he cannot stand on the sidelines for the games like he usually does.
