If LSU gets a healthy lead, taking into account the new redshirt rule, it'll be interesting to see whether O decides to play Brennan or not.

Double-edged sword. Would be good to get Brennan some snaps in case we need him later in the year. And may be wise to sit Burrow during a blowout so no risk of injury.

But is it worth burning 1 of the 4 games Brennan can play in to keep the redshirt, when he may have similar opportunities later in the year in the Arkansas and Rice games.

I can see both sides of the argument.

this is a damn good question. I am ready to see MB get some reasonable playing time. At this rate, he will not go pro and I am also not sure he will be ok at his current position on the depth chart until Burrow leaves...I am not sure there is a point in saving his eligibility at this time in his career.

I think you get burrow and these receivers as much time as you can and roll the dice. We have a shot this year. We need to go for it. Brennon knows he is next in line and he also knows he is too skinny and needs to grow.

Wouldn't risk it. We could potentially need him in our final 4 games. Remember, he's had a lot of playing time.

Only if we are up 5 or 6 scores and just to avoid injury to burrow

Burrow only has chemistry with 1 receiver so far. We need to build that up. Looks like Anderson and Sullivan are becoming more likely targets so we need to really build on that. Playing MB would be throwing a monkey wrench into the overall progression of the offense IMO

Redshirt. Only emergency situation. I would give sale a series or two if possible

I think you have to get him some playing time. If JB gets injured we need a QB that is ready to go. Be best if we keep it to one game though. So turn the offense loose and try to run the score up fast. See if you can get MB a half or more of football. Get your money's worth if you burn one of his 4 games.

There’s no reason for him to go in to handoff and throw 2-3 passes in a 30 point game. Let Sale do that.

He should take the redshirt. When 4 games are left, fine he can play.

The starter comes out if he gets hurt. That's it, imo. As good as he's played in the first three, I'm sure Joe will be the first to tell you he has some improving to do. You don't improve from the bench.

I would personally like to see us fine tune the wild cat package a little more as well. Particularly since we had multiple false starts with it against Auburn.

It adds another dimension that opposing teams have to game plan for and it worked against bama when we used it last year. And that’s a role I could see CEH doing very well in going forward.

Probably wouldn’t risk unless it’s like 49-3 at the start of the 4th. The offense still needs to build chemistry imo.

Brennan is a big time talent with his arm and throwing ability. He flat out has not gotten where he needs to be physically as of right now and we really don’t know where the coaching staff has him mentally either. So burning a redshirt when we do not need to seems silly. Remember Burrow has barely started any college football games himself, he needs as much playing time as possible right now anyway. I say do exactly what we have been doing and at the end of the season if they want to get MB in then great. Next year hopefully we can have him in after halftime most games and primed for a big redshirt junior year.

La Tech will come out blazing. This isn’t the game for Brennan to start. If LSU gets a solid lead, sure, let him play some. Tech isn’t like other in-state schools though. They are pretty solid.

We'll see. Would be nice if playcalling doesn't get ultra conservative and we keep our foot on the gas, which usually doesn't seem to happen in games like this as it should for LSU.
