This is about three things and three things only:
* Mathieu was kicked off of the team but completely turned his life around following a pretty strict pro contract or he didn't get paid. That's the story, he turned his life around and didn't waste his talent in the end.
* Before ever giving a dime he ALWAYS spoke highly of LSU. I've never heard a quote of anything negative about his treatment. In a way he has been an ambassador of DBU no matter how he left.
* He put money into the program to help it. He could have given money to anything to stick his name on it but it meant more to him to give money to the school to enhance the program he loved.
That's it. Had any of the other mentioned former players done these three things they would probably have something named after them too. Congrats to the Honey Badger for turning his life around. His is the story that kids will listen to when you try to explain that you can always change your ways and come out on top.

Perriloux does not have any ill feelings towards LSU as far as I know, nor should we have any towards him. He paid the price for his mistakes.
I never said anything about Perriloux. Just speaking of Mathieu. RP did help us win the national championship by helping us in the SEC championship when Matt Flynn had a high ankle sprain. He did waste his talent because of off the field issues. Also, it set us back several years on quarterback development.
