Pitching.. Connor Benge? Deven Sheerin? Grant Fontenot?

Just out of curiosity... what ever happened to Connor Benge? Hasn't seen game action since late April. I feel like I heard Deven Sheerin is close to being back from injury a couple of weeks ago, are there any updates? Grant Fontenot has had several encouraging outings heading into postseason.
I know we basically have our guys going into postseason..but I feel like we really have 7 reliable arms.. Kade, Eyanson, Evans, Cowan, Shores, and I'd add Noot and Mayers in there as making a late push to contribute for sure.
Just thinking how huge it could be if Fontenot continued his recent performance or if Deven made it back and was good, and then just curious where Benge disappeared to is all. 1 of these could make an 8th reliable arm potentially.. (I've heard Jay say having 8 reliable arms is what's needed in postseason play).
Of course others like Cooper Williams, Mavrick Rizy, Conner Ware or William Schmidt could also all contribute, but have been varying levels of inconsistent and I don't see Jay relying on them unless necessary (other than Coop and Ware for lefties specifically).

Benge couldn't throw strikes. Simple as that
He has been working hard but he is not someone you'll see in the postseason unless the game is out of hand or everyone else is burnt

To put it bluntly, he’s unpitchable.
In 5.1 IP in SEC play, he has 7BB (w 1HBP) on only 2K, given up 3HR and 7ER, and opponents are hitting .333 off him. He shouldn’t make postseason roster.

Sheerin probably won't be pitching this year. He threw a bullpen last I heard but at this point in the season his only action would be mop up duty late in games, if he's even on the postseason roster.
Fontenot might get a chance, but he's still kind of at the bottom of the list, especially with Noot and Mayers pitching so well as of late.
Honestly, idk what happened to Benge. He wasn't great, but was serviceable in certain spots. ETA: honestly didn't realize he had been that bad in SEC play.
Jay's magic number in the postseason is 8, but he's also said he can make it work with 6 or 7. With our two aces being able to work so late into games, only having 6-7 reliable arms is doable with the innings Eyanson and Anderson eat up.

Makes sense on Benge, just didn't know if he actually got hurt or what. Didn't see him even in a mid-week game.
I think what's on my mind is looking for that guy that could give us that Will Hellmers outing like he did against NC, not completely out of nowhere but not necessarily "one of the guys" going in..

Binge had a couple straight games that he imploded and couldn’t throw a strike, he was passed up by several guys. Sheerin is probably just taking the redshirt at this point. Fontenot never gained enough trust to get into anything but mop up duty or come in when they were really in a pinch.
Even a guy like Mayers who is practically unhittable hasn’t gotten consistent run because of his walks. I’m kind of surprised they haven’t used him more in midweeks and Sunday games just to try and work out his kinks. He’s given up only 3 hits in 12 innings but has walked 15.

Has Kade woods pitched in the 2 years he’s been here?

Yes he pitched a handful of games last year but he proved he was also unpitchable after probably the worst appearance by an LSU pitcher all year in a blowout vs Sam Houston St.

in general pitching condenses towards the end of the season.
1. Starters are going longer
2. You aren’t experimenting as much
3. no midweek games the last 2 weeks of the season.
Our main guys at this point are aAnderson, Eyanson, Evans, Cowan, Shores. they’re eating the bulk of innings.
Then Noot, Ware.
Williams and Primeaux as lefties
Rizy and Fontenot when we need innings.
The wild card is Mayers. When he throws strike, he is almost unhittable.
He has has allowed 3 hits in 12.2 innings.
He’s faced 58 batters
3 H 15 BB 4 HBP 21 k.
that’s like a 15.3 k/9
He still only has a 1.45 WHIP which isn’t insane.
and his last 4 outing he’s has
3.2 IP 1 H 2 BB 1 ER.
