Add Dutton, Little, and Ack.

All these guys are going to be needed, at some point, if we are going to extend this until at least Thursday

Really?

Tell me how Saturday to Wednesday is 3 days.

When talking about a pitcher’s days of rest you don’t include any days they pitch in a game.

This is elementary stuff.

Just looked back at Oregon State in 2018.

They lost their first game, then won four straight to get to the championship. Then lost to Arkansas then won two to win it all.

I'd love to see their spread of pitchers for that run. They played the maximum amount of games and still got it done.

Just found a good summary. Heimlich lost both games. They had a guy named Abel who had four wins. I am assuming he was the closer but his first win came in a non closing situation.

Who is going to step up like for us? Does Bryce Collins or Ackenhausen have it in them to give us 3 legit innings multiple times over the next few days?

No, Saturday 9 pm to Wednesday 6 pm is 3 hours short of 4 days. However, I don’t think we see Skenes if we make it to Wednesday.

I understand what you are saying, but when people talk about rest days in baseball, they mean consecutive full days without having pitched in a game. It’s not a running clock that starts as soon as you come out. That’s how they count it all year in college, and in the majors and minors.

Every year in the postseason guys who never pay attention start magically believing that it’s different. You can call it whatever you want but pitching on less than four days (in the conventional sense) is bad for arms. Pitching on less than the usual collegiate 6 days without proper MLB conditioning too much is bad as well, but since it’s only once or twice at the end of the year it’s usually fine.
