They were taken at 1 am about a week before the spring game. That's why the field is painted like that.
A 30 second exposure was used on a high end Nikon SLR with a fisheye lens. It allows a ton of light to come into the lens, and brightens the picture.

Thanks for the pics, Lazy
Apparently, SOME people refuse to believe that photographers exist in real life...and can post on the internet, too!

so the light is just surrounding lights etc?
Cool, way to much photo jargon for me, nice though.

Do I stand corrected as well. Very nice pics dave. Would you mind sending me a high res for me to print for my office wall?

I really can't wait until next season. He could get some excellent pictures during a game. I'm hoping to also get a bunch of good pics around campus before a few of the games.
What is the policy for bringing cameras into the stadium? Will they allow a small monopod? It's not a small camera, so it can't be hidden. And my friend will walk away from the gate before he walks away from that camera.

Does he have these on a website we could download them from or sell to me in high res? I would really like to get in touch with him/you about getting one blown up for my office.

I don't like to send out the full res. shots, as they were taken with his camera, and do belong to him. I'll get in contact with him and see what he wants to do this weekend.

What a sick camera man. What kind is it?

Something doesn't look legit about that picture. I think it is photoshoped. But even if so, it is cool.
I was wondering why we don't see the yards marked in increments of five.

Because it was for a spring game. They do the minimal amount of paint work on the field during the spring. Notice that the end zones weren't purple and gold during the spring game (photo below). The thick border around the field was missing. The tiger eye was not used. During a normal fall weekend game, it takes about 3 days to get the field completely painted. This way, they save time and money on paint and labor.

Yeah, OK. You can't convince me they were not altered. I didn't say they were not taken, but no way that is how the came right out of the camera. Look at the perfect straight lines of the goal posts just floating on the field. LSU must have plenty of $$$ to keep all those lights on at 1 am a week before the game. Must be rubbing elbows to get into the stadium at that time of the morning to take pics like that.
NOW, I will admit that they are VERY COOL AWESOME pictures, but I'm not sold that this is what just came out of the camera !
EDIT........
I just looked again and can see where it might be the actual picture, but with that, why is the field so bright in the picture straight from the endzone and so dark from the corner ?

It's called professional photography, nice camera, nice lenses, depth of field, and long exposure time.

The first picture was taken from the Upper South Endzome where most of the lighted advertisement signs are. The second picture was taken from the Northwest corner of the endzone (where the student section is) where there are no advertisements. If you look good at the pic taken from the corner of the Northwest side, you can see that the South endzone is lit up more. I was born and raised in Tiger Stadium, I know these things.
