I would think asking the question on a Northwestern board might bring better results.

It's my understanding that a number of his assistants will come from D-1.

Not trying to be a a-hole but it's an LSU board. Who cares who he brings to Northwestern?

Couple of restricted earnings type guys, one on defense (Drago) and one on offense (Farrell). Maybe a GA or two could go looking for something full time. Good luck to all.

I figured Drago would go with him. I wouldn't be shocked if one or both of his brothers go up there also.

To coach at the 1-AA level you have to have a master's degree, because of teaching responsibilities. At the D1 level you dont have to have a masters. Something he'll have to take into consideration.

There has to be a way around this. Instructors don't need masters.

not all disciplines have the same requirements...
some things fall under the heading of "technical or "special" in which case a College degree + experience can do it.

there is some leniency.

As far as I know to coach at the 1-AA level you do. I played at SFA in Nacadoches for 2 1/2 years in the late 90's and I know every coach we had did have one, and it was required that they do. Unless it has changed in the last 10 years I dont know. At the D1 level they have no teaching responsibilities, just strictly football so no masters is required.
