Not comical at all. Les treated this guy with the utmost respect - he never threw him under the bus and he gave the guy an opportunity to move on rather than humiliating him by firing him at the end of the season and essentially dumping the blame on him.

Peveto's comments were basically saying that he was treated with class and he is going to reciprocate in kind.

I'm glad he was treated with class. I'd much rather Les throw his players under the bus than Peveto.

I'd like to share your enthusiasm, but I don't at all see the Bird Bowl as an easy win for LSU.

At least Miles didn't go haywire like Coker did after the 2005 Peach Bowl and just start picking off assistant coaches.

Mud, you are one of the most negatigers on this site. do all of us a favor a STFU. Whatever opinions any of us may have had about Peveto during the past year really doesn't matter. Both Miles and Peveto handled the post regular season with class. Leave it at that. Wish Peveto and Mallory the best of luck and look forward to a bowl win against Ga. Tech and and new beginning in 2009.

Did he also say that LSU owes him a check for winning a bowl game.

Keep in mind how much these guys get paid. They are paid to deliver and at least make a team that is DEFENDING a championship, defend it. Of course they owe the fans that sit in the seats and pay their paychecks something.

Players could care less what you think. They play to ultimately win because they are competitive and play hard not for the fans support and approval, but for his teammate next to him.

WRONG! Many years ago when David Woodley was sharing time with Steve Ensminger and catching as much hell and hatred from the LSU fans as JL, I read the story of how he was in his room at the old dorm, lying on his bed and asking his roommate, "What do I have to do to please these people?"
Anybody who thinks that the players, coaches and their families aren't aware of and don't care what the fans think are extremly naive, extremely dumb or both!
Fortunately, for the most part they are able to set it aside and go on about their duties with class and dignity.
Before any "fans" start denigrating and hating on these people, they need to step back and put themselves in their shoes and think about how they would feel if the shoe were on the other foot.

After accepting the NSU job, BDP said he owed it to LSU and Les Miles to come back and coach for the Peach Bowl.

Considering the sentiment of the LSU fan base about the Malveto situation, that statement seems comical if not facetious.

You may think I'm the most negative but I'm not. Just very very disappointed in the defense this year.

Most people have been bitching about jaret lee. I have not...its tough for a young qb to start out in the SEC, let alone with a defense that does not give any support and continuously allowes points. All the players love Lee and think he'll be a great QB. I do too.

My only complaints have been on the defense and it started with Pelini's scheme. I have talked to numerous players and people involved with the football system. After hearing what I did its quite clear Mallory and Peveto needed to go ASAP.

You aren't the only Tiger fan disappointed with the 2008 football season. But like I said, Peveto is gone, so there is no need to continue to bash him. Look forward to the future with optimism and put 2008 behind us. Les will lead the tigers with a new coaching staff and a better team for 2009.
