After accepting the NSU job, BDP said he owed it to LSU and Les Miles to come back and coach for the Peach Bowl.

Considering the sentiment of the LSU fan base about the Malveto situation, that statement seems comical if not facetious.

It is rather ironic, but classy on his part nonetheless. Either he's blissfully unaware (doubt it), or just being the bigger person.

I think he's more concerned with Les Miles and loyal LSU fans about exiting with grace after expectation not being realized than worrying about the opinions of armchair coaches and rantards. Everyone realized it wasn't working, but Miles and his staff were the only ones who handled it with honor and class.

Where does he say he owes the "fanbase" anything???

i hope most coaches NEVER consider the sentiments of a "fanbase"...

He probably isn't doing it for his loyalty to the RANTards.

LSU coaches have very few friends on the RANT.

I think way to many of you think that players play and coaches coach to satisfy, appease, and win the respect of you.

Players could care less what you think. They play to ultimately win because they are competitive and play hard not for the fans support and approval, but for his teammate next to him.

Peveto coming back has nothing to do with appeasing negative/positive fans or securing a "good departure", it's to show respect and gratitude to the players he coached who gave it their all in the weight room, summer practices, and games.

Face it.. you're really not that important to them.

The arrogance of some fans still astonish me at times, although i should be gettin' used to it.

Some of these jackasses really believe they are owed something.

But in a way the fans do pay for his paycheck.

Fans have not been happy with his production. LSU admins werent happy at all either and that was the deciding factor. After the Ole Miss debacle shite hit the fan.

He owes it to the players he coaches. Whether the defense has been good or not, he has still put in work ... along side those players ... and he owes it to hem, and the program to be there. So the product on the field sucks, that doesn't mean the man didn't work hard.

That's why he owes it to those guys to be there. He put his arse on the line with the players. He got burned, but he still put his arse on the line. Not a hard concept to understand.

Like the idiots who think because they pay to go to a movie that they are owed something if they didn't like it. Your worth is your ticket price, not your opinion. If you choose not to go to next studio or director or actor's film, you have given your opionion. So either go and enjoy or stay home and bitch.

He knows we're gonna kick this shiite out of GT and the defensive performance will erase the negatives of the year for his start at NSU.

GT gets held to 12-14 points.

a win at GT would smooth over some things but the damage is done. Accountants will see the results from 7-5 season for a full year.

Not comical at all. Les treated this guy with the utmost respect - he never threw him under the bus and he gave the guy an opportunity to move on rather than humiliating him by firing him at the end of the season and essentially dumping the blame on him.

Peveto's comments were basically saying that he was treated with class and he is going to reciprocate in kind.

You're right but our fanbase is too obtuse to realize as much.
