No hes right but he didn't exactly say it nicely. He was using it to shite on Miami.

Also dont have a problem with that, I just find it funny. Starting to like me some Peter Burns.

In Mark Richts history against LSU has there ever been a defensive battle?

17-10 isn't exactly and offensive fireworks show.

However, to say this is the biggest opening game for LSU in the last decade is a little nuts, Oregon in 2011 was 3 vs 4. Definitely the biggest since then.

Actually, I disagree. That may have been a much more highly ranked matchup, but in terms of season success I think this one is bigger. Losing to a top 5 team on a neutral field to start the season wasn't keeping us out of title game had we swept the rest of the way.

If we come out and lose to Miami, fire the coach chants start immediately and the season starts off with a large shadow where we could easily end up 2-2 starting the year out before we even play Bama or Georgia.

That’s why Wisconsin 16 was bigger.

And we were actually preseason title contenders that year.

Possible NC run or fire the coach.

That was bigger than this.

Two teams ranked higher, Lambeau Field, and it could make or break our NC hopes, not to mention basically decide Miles’ fate week 1.

Nah, losing to a bad Auburn team that didn't score a TD against you decided that fate.

I mean, the writing was on the wall.

You think fire coach calls will be louder if we lose to Miami than they were for Miles after Wisc?

Yeah, I feel like this game is the difference between winning 7 or winning 6 for us.

Hard to put too much importance into that.

Two things worry me about this matchup.

1. Richt/Georgia gave LSU fits during arguably our best run ever, say 2002-2012.

2. The talent base in South Florida is phenomenal.
Miami is probably pretty close to a physically capable equal to LSU.

With such a tough schedule it’s important to open with the win. A 10 win season looks really though if we lose gm1

Local central MS (ESPN the zone) was laughing at him this afternoon and basically calling him an idiot for thinking LSU would win, much less win by 2 tds

2003 LSU vs Georgia 17-10 would be classified as a defensive battle

2009 LSU @ Georgia 20-13 was also a pretty poor offensive game until the last 5 minutes of that game.

thanks for the info.

Wisconsin wasn't even ranked if I recall correctly, and I was there.

I think we win big because we got one of them defenses that if u not prepared it can get ugly look at the Auburn game last year even with lack of depth our defense clamped down and they couldn’t do nothing and we won imagine what’s going to happen now that we have depth

NO sir

I think it might help as a barometer for the game. In my own mind I remember the much higher scoring back and forth games. I believe it was 07 the game was high scoring even with the defense LSU put on the field.
