Actually, Chris Jackson threw a pass on a fake punt against Arizona State on the LSU 5 yard line. That was the first game for Les Miles as an LSU coach.
Yeah that one is on the risky side a bit. I did say "a lot", not never.

Hmm...Funny how when players under Les screw up, ie Flynn not getting the team to the line against AU, you say it is there fault not Les', but when the players missed assignments on a last second throw against Iowa it is Saban's fault. How about the Clemson or Georgia wins? OU win while at LSU? Was all that poor coaching? How about Les' 2 losses a year? I guess that's on the players since it's Les right? You guys rant and rave about Saban's "3 loss a year" avg. What about Les' "2 loss a year" avg? Has Les ever had a 1-loss season? Not a lot of difference there except that Saban was rebuilding a team and Les is maintaining one. Bottom line is this, they are both very good coaches. You don't get paid the kind of money these guys do and not be.

It's not that hard to understand. Saban averaged 3 losses with NFL talent and Les is averaging 2 with NFL talent. Seems like a "no brainer" to me. And don't forget, Bama fans like to spout off about how lucky we were to get in last year but in '03 we were waiting on a fricking Hawaii/Boise St. score until 3am to see if we were going to get in. Saban was very lucky.

First of all, I never said anything about being lucky. If you look down a few posts I downplay the lucky thing. Secondly, you were lucky to get in. To get in to the BCS you have to be unless you are undefeated...well unless you are Auburn. Finally, please don't argue the point that LSU was just as well off when Saban took over as Les. Either way, I repeat they are both very good coaches.

I never said we were just as well off. In year 4 of the Saban campaign he had 100% of his own players and he went on the road and got fricking drummed at UGA. He's an outstanding coach/recruiter, no doubt, but y'all act like he's untouchable, as if his armor has no chink. Y'all better hope y'all don't come out flat today like y'all did against Tulane because Houston Nutt lives to frick up team's seasons.

Forgive some of my gump posters in this regard. Cut us a little slack though, I mean we did have Mike Shula for 4 years.

He absolutely does but I don't think we come out flat. RTR

KPC, you may be my favorite BAMA poster, easily. It's been fun, and I hope our teams can keep their ends of the bargain so Nov. 8th is a magical as possible for one of us.

I have to admit, Les Miles is a pretty good recruiter, and he's certainly not afraid to take a chance. But at the same time, even the most diehard LSU fan has to think how LUCKY Les Miles was last year to win the national championship. You guys literally backed into the game after losing during the last week of the regular season.

And in addition to the luck of the other teams losing that final weekend as well, you had NUMEROUS games that went down to the wire and you guys could have EASILY lost them. True, the better athletes won those games, but still. The Auburn game showed his TERRIBLE clock management skills, and you can't even argue that. The CB tips the ball up in the air and the game is over, Auburn wins. If JPW could have held on to the ball like a competent QB, we would have beaten you too.

In my opinion, Les Miles has had the superior athletes against EVERY TEAM he has faced since being at LSU. And he still loses 2 games per season? Don't get me wrong, that's a great record, but I could name several coaches that could put up those numbers with players as good as LSU has been fortunate enough to have.

you just confirmed my suspicion that you're an idiot. i had a feeling when you posted a very minor difference in acceptance rate between LSU and alabama as evidence that it's more difficult for athletes to meet the minimum requirements, but this is definitely a new level of stupidity. awesome, another idiot gump here to flame tigerdroppings

Yeah we were missing an L. Ya know, something LSU has done every year in Auburn until this season, even with The Great and Powerful Saban here.

ETA: We will see how LSU bounces back against South Carolina. That is a typical Bama homer who things Saban is a perfect coach. There have been numerous times where LSU showed up flat, unprepared, and undisciplined while Saban was coach...

No one can have a Bear Bryant type career any more. There's too many good programs and too much cynical media attention.

100% correct. That happens to every coach on earth from time to time. Sometimes your team comes out flat and there is nothing you can do about it. As for the guy that wrote this stupid shite, what a douchebag. This is one of those little gump pricks that needs LSU to lose to feel like Bama is relevant again. This maggot doesn't even deserve to breathe the same air that I do.

What Bama fans fail to realize is that Saban's last year at LSU was ALL of his recruits. In fact we got got punked on a poor coaching decision to hake a blitz on what my 4 y/o even knew was going to be a Hail Mary. After our safeties were moved up toward the line before the snap. The play was snapped and our DB's were out of position. Also, Les has never loss to UAB or struggled against teams like Troy or a shiite Oregon State.

People seem to forget that the same thing happenedd in 2004 as is now. We won a national championship, lost a LOT of seniors and came back in 2004 highly ranked and struggled out of the gates and throughout the season because it was a VERY young team, like this team is. Remember who the QBs were? A redshirt freshman (Jamarcus) and a less talented Junior (Randall). Also, we were again breaking in two brand new corners. Anybody remember who those were? Chevis Jackson and Jonathan Zenon. The reality is that this team is very young and just don't have the experience yet that the Florida team did last week. LSU fans are spoiled and now EXPECT a national title every year when in reality that is just completely ridiculous. So we need to stop this "The sky is falling!!!!" attitude and these unrealistic expectations because if we're not careful, we'll turn into Gumps before we know it.
