yea wasn't Bert MVP of the league or something along those lines

again I want RP to get his life together but doubtful he ever makes mention of league MVP

eta:
quote:

The 1976 regular season was Bert Jones's finest as a professional as he threw for 3,104 yards and a career high 24 touchdowns compiling a passer rating of 102.5. Jones was one of only three quarterbacks to achieve a 100+ passer rating during the entire decade of the 1970s, joining Dallas' Roger Staubach (1971) and Oakland's Ken Stabler (1976).
quote:

Jones was thus honored by the Associated Press as 1976's NFL Most Valuable Player and NFL Offensive Player of the Year, selected All-Pro and named to the Pro Bowl team.
Jones was also selected 2nd Team All-Pro following the 1977 season

yea I don't see RP being anything like that, sorry

and BTW Bert Jones gets no fricking respect

frick Perriloux. He set back LSU 3-4 years, and probably cost us a National Championship. I hope he gets cut and has to find a real job

Spectacular Revisionist Fail O' The Day.

You need to come to terms with the fact that without Perriloux, LSU never wins the 2007 SEC Championship game and LSU never even gets to the BCS Championship.

And fwiw, Perrilloux failed himself.
He owes you absolutely nothing.
Get over yourself.

Best of Luck to Ryan Perrilloux. He may have screwed up, but we all have at some point in our lives. The man is brave enough to expose himself to criticism by trying out for an NFL team. I pray that he makes it !

God bless Ryan and his family always !

nice pass there to Michael Clayton.

also, earlier Chuck Scott got a few carries for NYG, and CHevis was in at CB for the Panthers.

Its amazing that him (for the time being) and Flynn are in the league and JaMarcus cant even get a team interested in him. Boy JaMarcus has become a failure.

This is false.

Plain and simple- we were not going to win a national championship without a defensive coordinator. That easily had as much to do with our disastrous 2008 season as the QB situation.

Perrilloux's leaving may have been a blessing in disguise, long term... if Perrilloux had stayed and we won 1 or 2 more games that year, Chavis most likely doesn't get hired and we're still trying to figure out what to do with the defense.

Not really. He trashed the Quarterback position. I believe JLee got wrecked his Freshman year and has never fully recovered.

Not to mention Crowton might still be around.

All depends on how you look at it. Would we have been better if he had stayed? I think so.

But like you said, it may have worked out better in the long run.

Y'all are blaming a 20 year old amateur for acting like everyone expected him to act and leaving blameless the million dollar professional coach who had all his eggs in that basket.

Either way, 2008 was a long time ago, and it doesn't really matter who is to blame for it now. Miles and LSU have recovered, and it appears that RP has too.

I think RP could have a decent NFL career if he keeps himself out of Roger Goodell's office.
