We can’t keep blaming coaches for his lack of play. I think he needs to be moved to an in the box safety and let him roam. He just can’t fight off lineman once they get hands on him.

Maybe Perkins needs to play better no matter where they put him

It’s hard seeing what he did as a freshman and last year and so far this year your waiting for him to make the big play and he just doesn’t

He can do whatever it is Burns thinks he’s doing that’s celebration worthy and put an actual Mike in Perkin’s spot.

Absolutely! He needs to be on the edge where he can wreak havoc like he did as a frosh.

He caught everybody by surprise. And rushed off the end next to BJ Ojulari, which helped. Opposing coaches had a whole offseason to watch film of him and game plan. He’s a great athlete, but he’s a tweener with no real position yet. He really needs to come back next year and develop under Baker next year. No NFL team is gonna use a high pick on him after this year, because they don’t know where to put him.

He can’t except in obvious passing downs. If the other team runs it at him, he’s toast. And even if they don’t, he’s toast if the Tackle gets a hand on him. He’s only effective as a free speed rusher.

If he’s a Safety, even Star, he’s going to be in coverage a ton just like last year. He actually did an ok job with that, but part of the reason for moving him to LB was to keep him away from covering WRs as often.

He isn't going to get drafted, or if he does, I can't see him sniffing the top 3 or 4 rounds. I can see him frustrated and transferring to another team thinking he will perform better.....IDK....maybe he is early round draft worthy, I just don't see it. Where would he play in the NFL?

People gloss over this. BJ was athletic and smart enough to be able to drop into zone coverage as a Jack LB. So they could have Perkins rush and drop BJ to replace him if they were rushing four, and rush them both from the same side to really give the OL and backs problems. This definitely made Perkins more effective.

If he didn't play another down this year, he would be a first round pick

Harold Perkins played well against USC. Dude led the team in tackles. Tonight that game shouldn’t even be thought about again. Nicholls played an A+ game and that’s impossible for a MLB to stand out too much

True, but that applies to most of our players on defense

You're just spouting shite with that actually knowing shite. You need to go back and look at the box score. Whit weeks had a better stat line in half the plays that Harold Perkins had in the USC game. Go check have a good night

Wherever and however he played as a freshman, he should do that.

teams have schemed around him and taken advantage of his deficiencies. Go watch the A&M game from 2022, that freshman year everyone brings up. They ran for 274 yards, 5.5 a carry. Perkins finished with 1 solo tackle, and 1 assisted tackle.

He's been figured out. Kelly has done everything he can to turn him into a good football player at the college level. He just isn't. He's a one trick pony that in reality is only playable on obvious 3rd passing situations as an edge rusher.

He’s horrible. It’s not the coaches. It’s him.

I don’t mind him out there as long as he’s with the Weeks brothers. Somebody has to tackle and they do!
