Perhaps he needs to retire, both for him and LSU.
This is the bottom line. As a person I hate to see anyone go through this, but if it's beating him down so bad he's slumped into a pile in the 4th inning of a 1 run game totally disengaged, it's time to step away

Les was never the same after his mom died in October 2014 either
But Les was done after 1/9
Just like Mainieri was done after the 2017 CWS finals

LSU fans in this thread are so spoiled..... if y’all think PM is not the right fit anymore that’s fine... he seems to have lost his passion and fire... but what is do comical is that you same fans think whoever they bring in to replace him is gonna bring back the so called magic and win 5 titles in 10 years . Those days are long gone.....

Part of being a good coach is knowing what is best for the program. Step away now before you tank the program any further

I hope LSU can Mainieri can work something out so he can announce his retirement and have a nice send off at the last home game this Spring.

Serious question, is it possible for medical disability and insurance picks up the tab of what would be a large portion of a buyout and TAF picking up what’s left?

This is the type of out of the box thinking we need right now.

If the man can’t function and do his job then he needs to go. Period.

If you aren't in it then step down. Don't try to do something that you are disinterested in.

There's a pretty large gulf between complaining about not winning a NC(or multiple) vs complaining about 1-5 in SEC and getting swept by Tennessee. The latter seems like a pretty reasonable complaint
