Think you mean Auburn not Vandy. Vandy finished w the same SEC record as LSU

Technically, both of them finish behind LSU. That’s why LSU was the 3 seed at the conference tournament

This coastal team is probably better then one in 2016
They have way better pitching

I can guarantee you have not watched a single game they've played this year.

LSU won a tie-breaker, they didn’t finish ahead of Vandy

If you win a tie breaker then yes, that does in fact mean you finished ahead

This is what happens when you play Purdue fort Wayne and get run ruled by Northwestern St.

LSU’s SOS was more impacted by playing teams who finished 14, 15, and 16th in the SEC, which was out of our control. Texas’ OOC SOS was marginally better (both were in the 200s), and they lost games to UTSA and Texas St

Arkansas’s OOC SOS was 172 and they lost a game against Missouri St.

Margin of victory doesn’t matter in RPI, just wins and losses. A one run loss to Northwestern St isn’t any different than a run rule.

No, it means you can’t seed two teams with the same record 3rd. It’s called a “tie”-breaker because neither team finished ahead of the other so they have to use other metrics to break the tie to seed a tournament. We didn’t even play each other so the tie-breaker wasn’t even based on H2H. Had we both finished tied for first, we both would have been named SEC champs

We didn’t have much of a choice. Series got cancelled right before the season. You think we’re the only team in contention for top 8 with a bad loss?

Just genuinely curious here, who canceled on us?

I honestly do not know, I just know it’s been mentioned by Jay, tv broadcasts, etc throughout the season including while we were playing the Purdue FW series. Apparently we had two series cancelled and had to scramble to fill the spots. Purdue Fort Wayne was one of the fill ins and I’m not 100% positive on the other.

The schedule released in September was what we played. If someone cancelled it was sometime before the fall of 2024

Jay declined to name the s hooks who backed out but there was mentioned coaching changes that factored in.

I remember earlier this srason a poster came up with the suspected culprits based off of these parameters but I dont remember exactly who they were, but I believe one was a Texas school.

Ummm No it means that the team that won the tie breaker did indeed finish ahead of the other by the method used to determine the TIE-BREAKER

Anyone putting any of their mind in a projection that has Oregon State at 6 is wasting their time. Nothing about that teams resume reads such a position other than a manipulated RPI which is still just right at 6, not like 1, due to being forced to schedule a shite load of road games due to being independent due to no more PAC12. They were not playing power 4 teams on the road all year long either. LSU could have played at Southeastern and McNeese and been better for the RPI than a lot of their schedule and this board would have said that is shite. That is just RPI not yet being ready to handle the implosion of the PAC12 and a team playing an insane amount of road games even if its against non at large competing teams.

If Coastal gets a Top 8 seed with only 5 Quad 1 wins, then the committee was obviously compromised….lol
