I've made my peace with Miles. he is what he is, and he wins a lot. i'm making the best of it so i can enjoy LSU football.
My point is that i think there would be much more satisfaction with miles if we perceived that he was trying to fix things. You heard him at halftime last week, and he trots out the same old cliches every week during pressers, and we get pretty much the same offense, or lack thereof, week after week.
IF he would speak intelligibly about what he's doing and you got the feeling he knew what he was talking about I believe more fans, who are labeled negatigers on this board, would be much more satsified. As long as they could perceive that the coaching staff was doing something. I personally don't believe they are doing much except practicing the same stuff over and over again to get better at that. Well, that's good, but we hope for a little more than that.
I'm not saying miles isn't doing those things. the perception just ain't there.

I don't know if that is 100% true, but I guarantee you that LSU will never win the "eye test" and get the benefit of the doubt from the voters playing offense like we have since 2009 (minus the first 8 games of last season).

Yeah ... I tell myself this on non-gamedays, too.

what will you say if we get beat 31-10 and the team plays exactly like they have all season with no offense and 10 penalties?

miles' job is not to open up his teams playbook and strategy to all the media and fans.... he is paid to win football games ( which he does a damn good job at)...... he is paid to win games... not spill everything he wants/needs/ and plans to work on....

Agreed. All we get from Miles is coach-speak. Funny cliches and turn-of-a-phrase make him a likeable quirky guy, but I don't think he and the staff work on anything new from week to week. It sounds good in the press conference, but we don't see much new on the field on Saturdays.
The really frustrating part is that I think it's painfully clear to everyone that our offense is very predictable and no effort is made to adapt to what the defense is doing. Yes, I'd like to trust our coaching staff that they're doing all they can to maximize our performance, but I'm just not seeing it on the field.

You are part of the problem. Who cares how we win ? Just win. If you can't enjoy LSU football under Les Miles you may never enjoy it again.

Or ... try this ... record the LSU and Saints games ... then, splice'em together ... watch LSU on defense and the Saints on offense.

once upon a time, LSU had great offenses...that was before Miles put himself in charge

Hanagriff touched on this Saturday. Some coaches are glib, others are not. Like you said, Miles is what he is.

When?
When SABAN was here, right?

I will say how did we score 10 pts.

Like right now, I'm feeling the way the OP feels 100%. Come midway through the 2nd quarter, that changes quick.

Mettenberger ain't Hodson or Davey. He doesn't have the physical talent of Russell (or the WRs), or Tyler's skillset. He might approach Flynn by the end of his career, we'll see. But really, he can't even run as well as Flynn could either, so it'll all have to be passing.
re the Saban comment, he hated offensive football. I think it killed him to rely on Davey like he did.

Yeah, I think the most BCS/SEC wins since 05 equates to a "lot".
I sometimes have to wonder what LSU football some on here have followed in the last 10, 20, or 30 yrs when they can be so cavalier in their approach to the greatest period in LSU football history.

You can have your "perception"...I will take the reality of 82-19, 20-2 in the last 22, 12-1 in the last 13 SEC games, and Top 10 since 11-2010.

I know what Miles will say, he'll say the offensive scheme wasn't the problem and there's not much he would have done any differently

Anyone can say whatever they want, but my perception as a die-hard fan is, that our O doesn't make adjustments, PERIOD!! The O continually lines up, in a mass protect, 2 WO's and run the slant or curl? Really? That's Pee Wee football! I'm no genius but I could stop that crap.
The thing is our O has no imagination or surprises. I'm watching on TV and can see the retard of our offense. I'm sure Les has his reasons but DAMN we suck LARGE on offense. EMBARASSING!! GEAUX TIGERS!! Through Thick and Thin
