well, I wonder why the ultra republican conservative former governor did not call a convention to change the constitution.

I hope you see the politicians themselves benefit from the discordanent feeling amongst the voters. these politicians profit from it and continue to feather their own nests. when the voting public decides to use their damn heads instead of being emotional idiots the elected will have to change.

it is called representative government. and our government represents idiots that seem to enjoy being ideological hostages.

It's based on the lack of eligibility of the players. If LSU main campus runs out of money, no one will be able to attend classes. Ergo, the players would not be academically eligible. He's not using football as saying he'll take it away, he's showing the detrimental effects that failing to fund the university could have across the board.

didn't waste my time reading the rest of the thread because it should have ended here

Look, dude -- we put both of our kids through private school all the way to college, paying into a system we never used. The ONLY benefit we ever got was TOPS. Give me back the money I paid for the public grammar and high school I didn't use and I'll gladly pay full tuition.

Surely the guy who's been in office for 3 weeks is more to blame.

He's definitely the guy who has chosen to take the path that we are discussing. Edwards isn't wholly responsible for the budget shortfall. I don't think anyone is claiming that.

He IS the guy whose only solution is to raise taxes. THAT is what is being criticized.

Please tell me how this is his fault? In the 4 weeks he's been Governor he somehow magically spent all the state's money?

Did the Miles situation play into recruiting or F King article that came out?

Definitely. It's dumb to think otherwise. Did we end up overcoming it? Yes.

If the rhetoric continues, it will definitely hurt the school and athletic programs.

You chose to pay for private school and not utilize public schools

Do you know the cost to the state over the next 10 years for Medicaid expansion?

Sometimes you got to rattle the trees to get a few acorns.

Piyush kept kicking the can to the next person. Never had the political will to do the right thing.
Typical politician.

I do not. This was all I was able to find:

LINK

quote:

The federal government covers all Medicaid expansion costs until 2017. Then the state begins paying 5 percent of the costs, gradually increasing the matching funds to a cap of 10 percent in 2020.

Well, he is a politician. Lying is his job and his lifeblood. It's a matter of what degree of lying and ineptitude you're able to stomach.

Rattle the tree?

JBE called in the national news to cover him with a chainsaw in hand while he "threatens" to cut down the most historic and sacred Oak tree in La which gives back more fruit to the state than any other.

He did way more than just "rattle"
