What the hell happened to LSU vs Iowa in the Cap 1 bowl? We could have used that expertise coaching on the last play.

Landry is a known Saban knob slobberer. Having said that, Saban is obviously a good DB coach.

...having said THAT, I'm sure someone can find the comment made this last season by an NFL coach which pointed out that his star Bama player needed a lot of work on his 'technique' before he would 'become a good player'. I forget the coach, but I remember reading the quote and thinking it was funny.

I believe it was in reference to Kareem Jackson of the Texans. Wade Phillips made the comment about him.

I have never heard Landry ever say much positive about LSU players. The dude clearly has an agenda.

All that expert training and masterful prep has yielded two solid NFL defensive backs, both of which came from his time at LSU.

Ask Texans fans if Kareem Jackson was mentally prepared and ready to play last year.

that this Scout did coach with Saban at New England

Little bias maybe?

Mo is the best coverage corner I have seen at LSU.

i dont think he is saying anything ther than we needed mo to lock down one side of the field all the time.

It was the best thing for the defense play and play out to utilize the other 10 guys if we dont have to worry at all about their #1 WR. I dont think this is an indictment of Mo or our defense at all.

Just saying that he was so good at what we needed from him that we did almost all the time, be shutdown

Somewhat of an indictment on LSU's defense

I am not sure what this guy is talking about?

What have any Nick Saban-coached Alabama defensive backs done in the NFL? First of all, there are not that many of them. Rashad Johnson or Javier Arenas? Roman Harper made the Pro Bowl once, but Saban cannot claim credit for that.

Saban is a good coach, but the connection does not exist.

such as? only thing I can think of is blitzing, because Mo's played outside and slot, man and zone. he steps up in run support.

so what is it that Nick has his CBs do that Chief/ Coop don't?

Pro defenses just want to make sure that CB's are not beat like Harper and Jenkins were this past Saturday.

Agree with the context of your statement but Harper and Jenkins are both safeties. The fault lies in the coverage scheme not calling for a double team over the top against the opponents best downfield threat. Great job by Frisco of recognizing that the Saints DC was being very stubborn and predictable with his coverage schemes. Once again, proof that a prevent defense works like a charm; to prevent the defense from winning. Also agree that CL's opinion is not one to be highly valued.
