You are doing it all wrong. As a black male you better learn your place when a cop is around, at least that is what ApexTiger tells us.

Most white people probably don't realize how hard it is to be a black kid, specifically a young balck male. Not excusing a lot of activity, but you are still targeted quite frequently by most people. Oh well...

Anyways, this is going to get out of control, but I encourage everyone to reserve judgment until something comes out. I also encourage everyone to remember all those youtube videos of "Police" acting in unconstitutional ways.

Because most of us have never been arrested..more ever never even contemplated punching an officer in the middle of the night. It's in the police report what happened, do you think it's fabricated? If he is wise he will confess to all of it and humble himself. When it comes to authority, you don't have to like how you are being addressed. Understand you are not in authority. It it will go well if you remain silent, respectful and humble... bark, disrespect and strike an officer will get you arrested with an elbow to the face. It seems many Black kids today are raised to think Police are out to get them... how else can you explain the blatant disrespect and anger

get the frick out of here! this is the New Millennium america where are you from the 1800's...i hope you are a cop! frick the police! i wish he comes to me for representation i'll show you what a cop is worth! there is nothing in the code of criminal procedure or criminal code that says cursing out a cop is a crime. what is in the code of procedure is that a Louisiana citizen can defend himself from a false arrest...A louisiana citizen has a right to run(provided he has done nothing wrong of course) i see this shite to often these punk arse cops abuse their authority...this right here is just more of the same old bullshite...If i were Ricky i would sue the shite out of this police department for violation of my civil rights once this case is dismissed!

Act accordingly, and you won't be hassled. Plain and simple, just act like you belong in public in society and you'll be just fine.

That said, yeah white kids probably can get away with more foolishness at times than black kids in public...but again, don't act foolish and you won't get in trouble. Behaving is really a simple concept.

I understand all the people saying to just act accordingly and nothing will happen, but seriously, sometimes cops are just dicks that want to ruin someones day.

Not all of them, but there are a quite a few out there that were little more than high school bullies that dropped out of JUCO when the classes got too tough. They hate their life and poor choices, so they use work to take their aggression out.

What's the phrase about bad cops? The 95% of bad ones are out there sullying the name of the 5% of good ones.

That's my first thought when one of these situations arises and one of these threads gets started. In real terms what's said on this bulletin board causes far less harm with recruits than the fear of confrontations with our police. Sad thing is that in this era of Fox News, blame politics, it could happen just as easily in Chicago, Phoenix or L.A. as it does here in The South.

It doesn't matter so much who's right or wrong any more, just which side you're on. Do we ever really find out exactly what happened in any of these situations? SFTR.

I totally agree, Chinese. Honestly, I wish the admins would just whack these threads and post a locked stickies thread with just the publicly-reported facts. I don't think we as a collective fanbase (or any passionate college fanbase) has the maturity, restraint, knowledge, empathy or even the vocabulary to discuss this issue in a safe manner that won't reflect negatively upon us publicly.

This tells us nothing. A cop put a gun to your head because you stopped to pick up a hat?

He's no longer a cop. My buddy ran back to get the hat. Little Hitler Dickfiend pulls over in an unmarked Chevy Silverado. I have my flashers in waiting for my friend. I walk towards the truck to tell them I wasn't broken down. The door opens and the first thing to appear was a mag light over the top of a 9MM. Dickfiend's partner was this huge dude who was clearly uncomfortable with dick fiend's behavior.

Dickfiend said they had reason to believe I carjacked my friend while shoving me constantly on the way to my car. I told him "Look at the registration, it's my fricking car." At this point, he put the barrel of his gun into the base of my skull. It was fricked up and completely without justification.

wait for all the information on the incident to come out.

How hard is that to understand?
You mean wait for the LSUAD to organize the cover up and get their spin doctors working on a good defense story for the media.

Brothers of a feather flock together, as do that pathetic and annoying little band of jock sniffing, LSU athlete worshippers and defenders.

But the whole story doesn't add up....this is from someone who is allegedly close to the situation.

If you count close as hearing a story from someone else, just like you have. I have no idea who is right in this situation. Being an officer myself, I do know that one of the most common themes is people will claim they didn't know it was a cop even when they did. That's often because if they admit they knew then they have zero excuse for their actions. Again, IDK if the kids did anything wrong, but I'm just giving a little perspective here. I also know that media reports often contain stories that aren't exactly accurate.

The kid who was supposedly arrested for cursing....does anyone know what he was charged with? I'm sure it's already been said.

Reading the article, it says Jefferson was charged with battery on an officer. Many were asking he wasn't charged with this based on punching an officer. It appears he was according to the article.
