you can say it sounds suspicious and "wa for all the info to come out" etc, but the fact of the matter is, it's really not hard, nor asking a lot, for a person to just not get in a physical altercation of any kind in public. i really dont see why we need another sideshow on our team, we've had enough fricking distractions. this kid has become one and he's not even on campus yet.

Four days before he signed with LSU...any chance that Les & Co. were unaware of this incident?
Jeffersons would have to call and inform LSU for them to know this, correct?

?@valleyshook
Sure, Nobody knows about Rickey Jefferson's Police report until the night before Les Miles addresses the media to start spring FB. Riiiight

Charges probably got dropped and the media is trying to stir shite up.
ETA: I find it extremely difficult to believe that Les and co. didn't know about this.

It's parade season you will go to jail for breathing. Btw police reports are padded too.

Cut his arse now.
If he can't even keep his cool before college life, then he has little hope as it is. Far as I'm concerned, I don't want him anywhere near our players. Guys like this have trouble follow them and everyone near them.

It happened before signing day if it was a big deal scholly would have been pulled.
Coaches didn't know.

I'd be more inclined to believe that the staff knew about this story before he signed. If the media found out beforehand, they would have made sure coach Miles knew as soon as they found out.
While not a good thing, it'll be more sensationalized than it would be for anyone else, as some folks put him under the same microscope that his brother has been under.

What?
Who said anything about the start of spring football?
I'm just wondering if LSU was aware of this incident before Feb 6.

Man, this board has some rather irrational people when it comes to anything regarding Jefferson.
Some people can't separate their feelings from their better judgement

This sounds rather shaky to me...
Arrested for using foul language? Really? I suspect the kids are going to say that the cop came up and accused them of selling drugs and tried to harass/intimidate them.
Yeah... I'm in the withholding judgment as more needs to come out category.
quote:
David Sampson, 17, of St. Rose, allegedly began interfering with a narcotics investigation and refusing to stop using foul language, according to a Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit. When the deputy told Sampson to stop using foul language, Sampson, a Destrehan High School student, allegedly told Collins, "f--- you, b----," leading Collins to attempt to arrest the teenager, according to the arrest affidavit.

Because most of us have never been arrested..more ever never even contemplated punching an officer in the middle of the night.
It's in the police report what happened, do you think it's fabricated?
If he is wise he will confess to all of it and humble himself.
When it comes to authority, you don't have to like how you are being addressed. Understand you are not in authority. It it will go well if you remain silent, respectful and humble...
bark, disrespect and strike an officer will get you arrested with an elbow to the face.
It seems many Black kids today are raised to think Police are out to get them... how else can you explain the blatant disrespect and anger

good Lord are you really defending a fouled mouth punk in the middle of night?
when an officer tells you to stop cursing him, you had better do it.

Remember this simple lesson... Nothing good happens after 10 pm in any city with any race of people. Most young people out driving around are going to parties, clubs etc...Most are going to drink, then drive home late. We've all done it... But just remember, nothing good happens during these hours of debauchery. Because so many out are doing these things even when you aren't you are being watched as if you "might" he be under the influence.
so if you are out past 2 pm in New Orleans partying...is it really far fetched for an officer to see something that led him believe drugs are being exchanged?
It would be nice to hear a young black male address an officer with respect "Yes sir"
wow, that would go a long way towards receiving grace..but no, you start by acting like an angered fool, start cursing, and you will find yourself in more trouble... It's complete utter foolishness to mouth off to an officer. Just no respect at all.
not cool, not good! Sure you have freedom of speech and with that comes consequences
