How many were interested in baseball before they started winning?
I agree that most would do that but BB still has never and will never interest me. Yes I am glad when they do well But I do not go out of my way to watch it. Back in the 80"s I was thrilled at their success but still did not watch it. Now baseball on the other hand is different I have been a fan forever even before Bertman!!

I'm very optimistic about LSU Hoops future once again.

As am I. I was really excited when they hired Johnson. I don't think they could have made a better pick. He is a class act. LSU needs that.

well they did just win a NC 2 years ago in basketball so its kinda hard not to call them a football AND basketball school

indiana hasn't won a title in years. does this mean that they are a football school now? no. florida had a couple good basketball teams. that doesn't make them a perinnial bball school.

you're missing the point of the whole topic. basketball is cared about and respected in each of those fan bases. yes, they are football schools, but it seems LSU fans don't care to have complete athletic departments like UT and UF.

Basketball and baseball games are mostly attended by the local populous and students

Big +1

Austin area 2.1 million
Orlando area 2.3 million
BR area 770,000

quite a difference

Winning wouldn't have anything to do with that, would it?

we're playing well and winning more than losing now. If we go 10-6 in league, do yall think the PMAC will still be packed at the end? I really don't know.

LSU just isn't a basketball school, and really no school in the SEC is besides Kentucky.

Donovan has made them into a both a basketball and football school. They are consistently good. Some years not as good as others, but they are always very competetive.

When did the University of Florida move? Last I checked they were in Gainesville, which is 115 miles away. If you are going to count Orlando for Florida, then you need to throw in New Orleans for LSU.

John Brady's attitude ruined the fans left over from the 80's and early 90's. End of story. Fans will return when they feel TJ has this program as a consistent top 25 team.

You youngsters kill me sometimes. I know some here remember the days when you could go to Alex Box 5 minutes before first pitch and get a front row seat.

OK

BR/NO - 1.5 mil
Austin - 2.1 mil
Gaines/Orl - 2.6 mil

Still a big diff in local "fans" available.

The funny thing is historically we are arguably the 2nd best basketball program in the sec, and the best best baseball program in the sec compared to 3rd or 4th best in football.
