It's not the end all be all, but it's a good indication of how much talent you have. Not everyone is a Perkins. But hell, they didn't even use Perkins effectively this past weekend.

I'm not emotional, I'm actually pretty logical when it comes to anything sports related. I guess I've just passed the point in my life where anything like that has any bearing on my life other than what it is. I'll give my thoughts from logical reasoned perspective.....
The offense is great, the defense is horrid. There are significant holes and that is what keeps the defense from being that good. What I don't understand is that while there are holes, there are "less talented" defenses that aren't as bad as LSU's defense. I don't know why that is, whether it's coaching, scheme, or talent, my guess is a mixture of the three. We've all seen that 1 player doing the wrong thing can blow a defensive set completely.
What I don't like is that LSU's defense can be a dominant force, dictating what the other team does against it. When it is, it's awesome to watch because they just look like bullies. CBK teams never look like that. It's almost like that mean streak that LSU used to have is gone. I don't like it.

Go rewatch it and check out Milroe's td runs. On 2 of them the middle of the field is totally cleared out for him to occupy. When no one in the front 7 even reaches out to touch the guy running into the end zone, you've been out-schemed.
This started last year w/ A&M, IMO. Not sure what coaches are seeing but they're blowing House's doors off in the gameplan.
We may not have the horses to be the best D in the conf. But you'll never convince me that the personnel LSU puts out there matches the shitty results we're seeing.
