Right lol.
Here’s 4 turds. See if you can make 1 hamburger out of it.
Can you get lsu to hire you as the head guy? We could save some money while also getting a much better coach than we have.

And he didnt deliver at lsu? Didnt he win a natty? Did i mistake that for something else?
Ah yes. The lone championship from almost 15 years ago lol.

Still counts
It does lol. But relatively speaking, it’s garbage. This is lsu.
Imagine being this complacent with mediocrity as an lsu fan. Lol

It was time for Paul to go but some of you are out of your minds.

The difference between us…not everything is binary, horrible or great for me. I can weight context and have a middle ground. You are apparently incapable

You’re just happy with lesser results than what realistically should have happened.
This isn’t just lsu fans being homers. After what happened from 90-2000, lsu should have won more than one championship after we recovered from smoke. We had several years that were squandered during PMs tenure.
This isn’t binary at all. It’s true. There’s no reason after what was built at lsu, that we should have dropped the ball as much as we did from 2007 on.

Thanks for letting me know not to take anything you say seriously.

I'm not exactly sure why you're so sure he's "happy" with lesser results.
Did Mainieri win a natty? Yes or no?
You say it counted and in the same sentence you say "it's garbage."
So does it count or doesn't it? You're the one saying Maineiri was awful.
You can't have it both ways.
It was time for Paul to go but he wasn't a terrible coach like your 'awesome' thread is suggesting.
You keep whining about "being happy and/or complacent with mediocrity" but Mainieri got to a super last year. Is that being mediocre?
By your argument, you're suggesting that Johnson's first year is not even being "mediocre," just from the context clues of what you think those words mean.

We won a national title in 2009, went to 5 CWS under PM, had 4 regular season titles, 6 SEC tournament titles during that time on
Listen, things got extremely stale for Paul at the end and it was time for him to retire but let’s stop acting like LSU was some program in the dumps who didn’t do anything for decades.

Are you drunk?

The only legitimate weekend
starter, Hilliard, was recruited several years ago
If we're being honest, Hilliard wouldn't have been a starter on most of Paul's teams the first 9-10 years. I'm a big fan of Hilliard's and appreciate what he did this year as we'd have been fricked without him, but he's no better than a serviceable day 3 starter on a typical LSU baseball team. Think about it this way. He was our #3 guy on a team with Zack Hess trying to move from a closer role, freshman AJ Labas, and Caleb Gilbert who had arm issues and completely lost his stuff.

Yea it counts. So we judge coaches at lsu now based on one championship? bullshite. He should have had multiple. But I’m glad y’all are ok with his wasted tenure because he got one early on and then shite himself for the next 10+ years. Like I said, hooray mediocre weak results!!!

That’s weak. But I guess we are ok with regular season and sec T accolades!!!

Who's 'we?' Maybe YOU judge a coach on that. That's all on you.

Again, your opinion.

I'm glad you're completely oblivious to what he accomplished here when someone posted his achievements in this very thread.
We got to a super last season with him as the head coach. Like I said, by your argument, Jay's first season isn't even "mediocre."

We judge coaches based on their full body of work, not their last season. Mainieri's body of work at LSU wasn't "dog shite"
Our fans do this with every coach ultimately and it's honestly pathetic. The only coach who doesn't ultimately become the ire of LSU fans has been Skip Bertman. Even Nick Saban caught shite on his way out and continued to until he started winning at Alabama.

It kinda was though. If it wasn’t, he would still be here and admin would be ok with him being mediocre. Admin wants championships though. Why would they get rid of him if he was doing a great job?
Posted on 6/7/22 at 12:02 am to TackySweater
So what you are actually saying is that mainieri was Bertman. I agree, not even close.
But spare us all your mediocrity accepting bullshite like your opinion has anything to do with LSU’s success.
Also, to say that a hall of fame career is garbage while not being a member of said hall of fame makes you either jealous or stupid. And considering you seem to be baseball ignorant, I’m going to say you’re just stupid.

Exactly.
I think he's drunk or something. I get not being a fan of a coach for whatever reason but to just say he was crap and disregard the entire body of work and to continue whining is just disingenuous.
