Most oddsmakers still have Merrill as favorite. I just don’t see it, but maybe that’s bias.

I was genuine surprised how little he relied on his repertoire early in the season this year but it basically mirrored last year.
Lots of FB early and then he kept adding a new + pitch.

Well that’s awesome, Skenes deserves it. Hopefully he gets another strong start and seals it up.

The shape of the change up is filthy. It must look like a FB out the hand and he is sinking it with a tail to righties and away from lefties. Remarkable. The out pitch in that game was 8/9 changes. You can hear the announcers calling one after another. The pitch is thrown to all quadrants. That reminds me of when Verlander is on or Valdez throwing change ups and breaking pitches up and away to drop them in. Remarkable progress by Paul on that pitch in particular.

ROTY would be nice, but clearly this guy is the next great. If he stays healthy, the sky is the limit. There will be Cy Youngs and records in his future.
